Java Hyde Park

I am not one to ever leave a negative review but when someone is so unfriendly, it’s a little different! After reading great reviews, my husband and I were excited to try this coffee shop out. We went today, on a Sunday afternoon, and received such unfriendly service that although our drinks were good, I’m not sure I would go back when I could support another local coffee shop with friendly, welcoming, and appreciative staff. We sat in the outdoor seating area and one of the tables was unnoticeably broken. I sat my husband’s drink down and the entire table collapsed on us, spilling his brand new drink. I went inside and asked the girl if she wouldn’t mind remaking it (another thing I hate to ask of someone) due to it falling with the broken table. She wouldn’t even let me finish speaking and was extremely rude. She made a new drink for us in all of 20 seconds, in the same spilled on cup that I brought in for proof of it spilling outside. I only interacted with one girl working so can’t speak to the entire staff but my experience with her did not make me want to return anytime soon.

We visit for the coffee and the homemade cream topping. I enjoy white chocolate peppermint mocha. It is pleasant and inviting. A nice location in old time Boise area. A great place to enjoy delicious coffee and fresh bakery pastries. Highly recommend!

I've always enjoyed Java, particularly this location, and have been frequenting it more lately. My only real criticism is the upcharge for alternative milk is absurd. I don't know if it's a recent change or I simply hadn't noticed before. Still love it here, I'll just be getting more Americanos!

Favorite spot to get coffee. I get their “Keith Richards” it’s definitely my favorite, and they nail it with the fresh whip cream —strong, flavorful, and exactly the kind of pick-me-up you’d hope for. The shop itself has a great vibe, super relaxed and welcoming. If you’re around and need a solid coffee fix, Java is definitely worth a visit!

This is a great coffee shop. The coffee is good and the pastries/breakfast items are absolutely scrumptious!!! The ham and cheese turnover and the scones are amazing. On one morning, I had a latte with rose and pistachio syrup; what a rare find in Idaho! Some clientele are very friendly and will initiate conversations with you. Service is great, but one time they forgot about my food order after a huge wave of customers after me came; I have them a friendly reminder and got my food right away :)
