Crema's Take
“Nestled in Newport Beach's Paseo 17, Milligram is a sun-drenched sanctuary where espresso excellence meets approachable hospitality—regulars rave about shots so compelling they're visiting multiple times a week. Beyond the impeccable coffee, the kitchen delivers fresh, craveable breakfast and brunch (think standout avocado toast), all served in a thoughtfully designed space that feels both inviting and intentional, where the staff genuinely seem invested in your experience.”

I had the avocado toast and an espresso, and both were absolutely amazing! The flavors were fresh and delicious, and the vibe of the cafe is so welcoming and relaxing. Great place to grab a bite or just hang out!
beautiful coffee shop in a nice area, great coffee and the service is amazing, especially from Anisa & Emma. My dad and I have been here about 5 times this week alone because the espresso is the best here. Highly recommend.
Milligram is always a vibe! The setting is beautiful, the staff really works hard to keep everyone happy. Weekends can get pretty busy, but I’ve never really waited more than 15 minutes for a table. Sit on the patio for a relaxing vibe and good people watching. On the weekends there’s live music and now with Christmas, it’s beautifully decorated. All the food is really delicious, and they have amazing lattes! Highly recommend!
Milligram Coffee and Kitchen – A Cozy Brunch Spot with a Relaxing Atmosphere Nestled in Paseo 17, Milligram Coffee and Kitchen is a hidden gem that perfectly blends charm, greenery, and natural light, making it an ideal weekend brunch spot. The two-story house-style block is surrounded by a lush garden, and the sun-drenched patio seating is a must for a truly chilling and cozy dining experience. Inside, the café features a coffee bar, a well-stocked liquor bar, and artistic decor, adding to its sophisticated, artsy vibe. Food & Drinks The menu offers a variety of options, including all-day breakfast and lunch selections after 11 AM, so arriving around 10:30 AM allows you to enjoy the best of both menus! Shakshouka – A comforting dish with oven-baked eggs in a rich tomato and beef stew, served with three thick-cut toast slices—perfect for dipping. A great balance of creamy and crispy textures. Milligram Breakfast – A classic plate with bacon, toast, and an oven-baked egg. Adding avocado takes it to the next level! Prosciutto & Burrata – A refreshing mix of fresh pear, arugula, olive oil, burrata cheese, and Iberico ham. Served after 11 AM, this dish is a great balance of flavors—the creamy cheese pairs beautifully with the peppery arugula and salty ham. For coffee, I tried the Cortado, and the balance between coffee and milk was spot on—definitely recommended! Service & Ambiance The staff is warm and attentive, checking in about previous dishes and genuinely listening to feedback. Reservations aren’t accepted for parties under six, but there are plenty of seats available, so it’s worth the wait. Additional Notes Dog-friendly! The outdoor patio welcomes pets, making it a perfect place to brunch with your furry friend. Parking is limited, and you may need to find street parking in nearby residential areas. Overall, I loved my experience here and would highly recommend it for a relaxing, delicious brunch!
When I went to place an order, I wasn’t sure if you ordered at the register or if it was sit down. When I started to order at the register, the employee asked it it was for here, and I said yes. She then snapped at me and told me that I needed to sit down for service. No problem, but could have been said in a better way. I was there on a business meeting and someone else was constantly asking if we were finished. We were there for an hour and we only ordered two coffees and a pastry, and you could tell they wanted us to leave. I could understand if the place was busy, but there was literally only one other person in there with us. There were a ton of open tables, and this one employee literally just kept coming up to us and asking us if we were done, like every 10 mins the last half hour we were there. I also ordered a flat white and it just tasted like burnt espresso. The pastry however, was really good, and the atmosphere was really pretty. They had a really nice outdoor patio as well. Even though this isn’t a good review, I will go back and give it another shot. Might have just gone at a bad time.
