Crema's Take
“Tucked in Gahanna, this warmly staffed spot celebrates East African coffee traditions alongside creative espresso drinks, with their signature Somali Tea earning particular devotion from regulars. The pastries are genuinely excellent—reviewers rave about everything from almond danishes to beef sambusas—making it feel less like a coffee run and more like stepping into someone's welcoming living room where the owner actually wants to chat with you.”

First time visiting. The coffee was excellent and the deserts were great. The Somali Tea was great. They are opening late on weekends so call ahead if you come late. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
I’ve been here a couple times and i really love the customer service and the coffee no doubt it’s amazing! but today i got the Somali Tea a Beef Sombuse. My Tea was delicious as usual and so was the beef Sombuse and when i got the sauce that came with it i basically got less than a teaspoon which is really disappointing because i love the sauce its like nothing i’ve tried before. they didn’t lose me as a loyal customer but im disappointed about the portion i received today
Randomly search for the coffee place and find this wonderful place. Very first time to get the taste of the Tea from east-African and it’s really amazing. Staffs are very nice and offered us the samples of the teas. The Milkcake is one of the best I’ve ever have. Will come back to try other things for sure. Thanks for providing the amazing food!
Absolutely loved my visit to East African Coffee House in Gahanna! From the moment I walked in, the staff, including the owner, were so friendly and kind. We had such a pleasant conversation and I truly felt welcomed. The Somali beef samosa was phenomenal! Perfectly crisp and packed with incredible spice and flavor. The Shaah tea was warm, aromatic, and soul-filling. The iced Moos Banana Latte was creamy and fun, and the Lotus Milkcake was rich and beautifully balanced. I also tried the danishes, including a spinach and feta one that was golden, flaky, and delicious. The pastry cases are stunning: rows of cheesecakes, muffins, and pastries that all look too good to eat (but you’ll be glad you did!). The space itself is clean, cozy, and inviting too; a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. I can’t wait to bring my family next time. This place is a gem in Gahanna, full of warmth, flavor, and heart.
This place is wonderful!! I ordered the brown sugar shaken espresso which was so delicious and the almond danish. The pastry was out of this world. Service was so friendly, and it was a great vibe inside! Lots of people working and families hanging out. Had come with a friend and her kid, and they had high chairs, which was perfect. Service was so fast, and it was a pleasure to be there. Definitely check out this place, lots of great things on the menu I want to try!!! Prices are also very reasonable. The aesthetic inside is very comfortable and gorgeous.
