Awesome coffee! Got a decaf ice coffee and it was so smooth! Nice cozy outdoor seating area too

Delicious coffee (top 5 in Newport IMO) at a great location. Balboa Island has desperately needed competition. Huskin's long-standing monopoly is reflected in the quality of their coffee. Well, the game is afoot! My money is on Jasper dominating the market.

Jasper is one of those spots you almost don’t want to talk about, because it’s exactly how you like it now. The coffee is consistently dialed in—simple menu, no fluff. If you know what a long black is, order it. If you care about how coffee is brewed, you’ll notice they list flash brew, pour-over, and actually rotate things. Nothing feels accidental here. What most people miss is the tea and matcha. They’re serving single-origin Japanese matcha (Shizuoka and Kagoshima) and real loose-leaf teas with actual tasting notes, not just names. That alone tells you this place is run by people who care. House-made syrups, organic ingredients, calm energy, and staff who know the menu without hovering. It’s the kind of spot locals hit on a morning walk or after the ferry, not a scene, not rushed. If you live here, this becomes your default. If you’re visiting, be respectful—this is a neighborhood place that just happens to be very, very good.

Jasper Coffee is an awesome spot. The coffee was delicious, the play area for the kids was great, and the thrift shop and photo booth were a fun added bonus. The location is perfect, such a great spot on the island. We will definitely be back.
