Crema's Take
“Veritas Cafe is a spacious, light-filled haven where knowledgeable baristas treat espresso with real care and aren't afraid to surprise you with thoughtful pairings like dark chocolate and sparkling water alongside your Cortado. The attached-to-a-church setting creates an unexpectedly warm, welcoming atmosphere that draws people back whether they're settling in for work, meeting a friend, or just craving a genuinely excellent caramel latte made with local ingredients. It's the kind of place that converts people—even those who claim they don't love city coffee spots—into regulars.”

Very knowledgeable, friendly, and kind staff! I was super happy to learn about all of the local products used for menu items. I ordered a Caramel Latte and it was Excellent! Thank you! I'll be back Stopped back in and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the baked goods are made in house. I shared a gluten free cranberry orange scone with my Mom. It was excellent! I also ordered a eggnog latte- WOW! The Cafe keeps getting better each time I stop! Wonderful staff and awesome place to visit!
I'm not a big fan of being in the city, but when I do find myself in Cedar Rapids with a little time on my hands, this one of the only places where I will stop. Everything about this place is good. The coffee, baked items, and the staff is always so very friendly!!! My go to place in the city...!!! And if you have any Bible-related questions, there's always someone there who is more than happy to talk to you. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of the city and crowds of people, but I feel completely comfortable and at home here!!!
They gave me dark chocolate pebbles and sparkling water which paired really well with my Cortado, and I’m not a sparkling or dark guy at all but I am now. Sometimes they played really loud church music in the back (I know it’s a church but still pretty loud), otherwise really nice staff a great experience.
I needed a place to check in and get work done—to that end this place is great: a huge space with lots of open seating, attached to a church (Background praise music easily muted out with my own headset). Friendly and inviting. The food and coffee is nothing to write home about—and the service could use a little more speed and getting orders right, but the price is good. If you’re looking for the best coffee in town, it’s probably not here, but if you need a place to focus, is spacious, quiet, and relaxing, this is a great choice.
If you need a warm, inviting place to grab coffee, read, study, or catch up with a friend, this is it. The friendly staff, cozy vibe, and natural light create the perfect atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a deep convo, a small group meet-up, or just some personal time. The standard espresso drinks and creative monthly specials always hit the spot. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. You have to try the flatbreads and breakfast sandwich, both are available as gluten free and/or dairyfree!
