Crema's Take

Gearhouse Coffee Shop is a Seattle gem that brilliantly blends specialty espresso culture with adventure—think gear-rental startup meets cozy coffee bar, complete with board game nights and community events that keep the place buzzing even on Wednesday evenings. The espresso-focused drinks are thoughtfully crafted with a smooth, nuanced touch, and the immaculate vibe attracts everyone from remote workers and readers seeking a productive afternoon to locals who genuinely choose this spot over their own workplace coffee. It's the kind of place where you'll stay longer than you planned, whether you're fueling up before a hiking trip or settling in with a book and a perfectly pulled Americano.

I love this place. I have been coming here for 3 years now, and when anyone I know comes into town, I always give this place a recommendation. Reasons why this place is awesome 1. immaculate vibe -especially if you love outdoor stuff. Tons of reading material, maps, and good inspiration for any outdoor trips 2. The coffee is incredible!! Tastes amazing and importantly comes out at a temperature that one can drink it and not burn yourself on. Shoutout to Tony for making the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. 3. The Gearhouse community is awesome and even when I wasn’t a member I still throughout enjoyed coming here. No pressure, just good vibes. If you do join as a member though, there’s a lot of good information from beginners to advanced, and you may even make some friends going on trips 4. Last but not least, as an outdoor guy myself, I hate going to shops for questions on gear as i always feel pressured to make a purchase. However not here! I have asked questions on all types of gear to get information on why I should buy and when/where I should get it. Long story short, if you haven’t come here, come here. One of the best coffee shops in Seattle

I love the vibe here. It’s like a gear-rental startup that also serves coffee and beer. I really liked the Americano. They have board game nights as well as hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and biking events for members. they even hosted urban hiking events earlier. If you want to meet outdoorsy people, get some work done, and enjoy a cozy atmosphere, this is the place.

Brown sugar soy latte came out to ~$8 after tax. Coffee is a little sour but very smooth. Overall a nice ambiance for reading and sipping coffee

I randomly stopped by Gearhouse Coffee Shop in Seattle around 6 pm and honestly did not expect it to be this lively on a Wednesday evening. The place was packed as they were having a board-game night. It was actually really fun to see everyone was into their games, chatting, laughing, just super good vibes. I ordered a lavender latte and it was amazing. What really stood out is that this place is way more than just a typical coffee shop. It feels like a community spot, the kind of place designed for people to hang out, meet others, study, or just do their own thing. I noticed they seem to offer memberships and different activities, which I’m definitely planning to check out next time. If you’re in the area and want great coffee & a genuinely warm, community-driven atmosphere, definitely check this place out.

I love coming here on my days off from my barista job. It’s nice to get my caffeine fix without mentally clocking in. Even though I could grab a free coffee made perfectly to my standard at work, I choose to come here to fully enjoy my day off. The lattes are consistently good, the seating is cozy, and it’s just a short walk from home. The only downside is that service can sometimes feel a bit cold or inconsistent. On those days, it’s hard to justify spending extra when I know I could get a perfect coffee for free at work. Still, I really enjoy the atmosphere and drinks — that’s why this is a solid four stars. Highlights: • Good plain lattes • Cozy, comfortable seating • Walking distance from home
