Golden Manna Bakery
16 Bowery St, New York, NY
Crema's Take
“Golden Manna Bakery has become a beloved Chinatown destination where their viral mango mochi truly delivers—soft, pillowy, and packed with real mango cubes that justify the buzz. Beyond the showstopping mochi, this spot excels across the board with expertly crafted pastries like crispy sesame balls and quality savory bites such as their praised fish sandwich and fried pork dumplings, making it an ideal quick grab for both specialty sweets and satisfying light meals.”

The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every bite tasted high quality and well-made. I got the fish sandwich and the fried pork dumplings, and both were incredible. I’d 100% order this again and recommend it to anyone.
Reviewing specifically for the mango mochi which I believe went viral on social media - it’s huge, so soft and chewy, and has delicious REAL mango cubes inside. The coconut flakes on the outside are a nice addition to the flavor profile, and I usually am not that big of a fan of coconut. Definitely recommend!!
Tried the mango mochi and the peanut mochi. The texture of the mochi is excellent, soft and pillowy. But I do wish the mango mochi had more mango in it. The peanut mochi wasn’t what I was expecting it was literally mochi with peanuts inside I guess I was expecting more of a peanut custard. Overall if it’s not busy I would recommend to try it but I wouldn’t wait for either item.
This spot is always a solid stop, especially with all the hype around their mango mochi that went viral. Honestly, it lives up to it super soft, fresh, and the mango flavor pops. The bakery itself has a nice mix of classic pastries and more modern items, and everything I’ve tried so far has tasted fresh. It does get busy because of the mochi buzz, but the line moves fairly quickly. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area and want something sweet.
Was touring Chinatown while on vacation and decided to compare a few bakeries. We got mango mochi, vanilla cream cake and a sesame ball. I enjoyed the crunchy texture and nice flavor of the sesame the most. The red bean filling was too dense and rich for me. The cake was like angel food but not as dry. The mochi was rolled in coconut and had nice chunks of mango in it. I would recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
