Crema's Take
“Vino Volo in Saint Paul is a wine-focused spot with genuinely knowledgeable bartenders who excel at personal recommendations, whether you're a confident wine lover or discovering your first favorite glass. The warm, conversational vibe makes it equally suited for lingering conversations or catching a flight, and their unexpected kitchen surprises—like a standout cavatappi pasta—elevate it beyond typical airport fare.”

The only reason this place gets 4 stars... ok, the only TWO reasons it gets 4 stars is the service (outstanding bar tender) and the cavatappi pasta (surprisingly good at $25). But folks, we need to talk about the wines here... I mean, I guess we're spoiled by the Vino Volo at PDX. This one doesn't have a one decent, single vineyard wine. Not one. All of it is cheap plonk (think Two Buck Chuck, with the possible exception of the Lange Pinot, though even this was rather average for a Willamette Pinot), and sold at extortionate prices, even for an airport ($18+ a glass when these bottles retail for less than $20 each). So come for the food and a solid Old Fashioned. Forget about the wine. They should be embarrassed to call themselves a wine bar.
Marcy was great! She helped me pick out a delicious sparkling wine, and was very nice and personable. The MN sparkling wine was right up my alley and the burrata was tasty. The manager was sitting at the bar next to me, and was very rude to her staff; she chastised Marcy right in front of me for going into the back briefly to help someone (everyone in the bar was well taken care of). This didn't create the best atmosphere, unfortunately. Great service, great food, but the manager should be aware of how unkindness comes across to customers.
Absolutely atrocious how this woman treated me. I was sitting at a table, on outside seating area, 20 min before she opened. She told me that I couldn't sit at the table I had been sitting at for the last hour because they're about to open. I asked if I could place an order and she rudely told me I couldn't until she was ready to open in 20 min. Not one person was seated and this table was directly outside my gate. I said "ok not a problem, I will move on" she replied "white people." Absolutely absurd behavior from a person in the service industry.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at Minneapolis St. Paul Vino Volo! The service was great, the food was tasty, and the conversation was memorable. The perfect airport experience when enjoying a glass of wine!
I'm not usually a wine drinker, but I stopped by Vino Vino at the airport and the woman behind the bar gave me a great recommendation. Ended up really enjoying the wine—smooth, easy to drink, and exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for. Super friendly service too. Nice little surprise in the middle of travel!
