Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused spot in Indianapolis has earned serious respect for their signature espresso martini, which strikes a rare balance between rich coffee flavor and smooth sweetness that even skeptics appreciate. The newly renovated location radiates welcoming energy with bright natural light and comfortable seating, making it equally suited for lingering conversations or a quick quality coffee, all backed by bartenders and staff who genuinely engage with guests and offer thoughtful recommendations. Whether you're craving traditional espresso drinks or their creative signature cocktails, Thieves delivers the kind of craft-focused hospitality that makes locals and travelers alike feel like regulars.”

The drinks were very good, and the waitress and bartenders were friendly and professional. However, the evening seemed to be affected by a staffing issue. On a busy, full-house night, there appeared to be only one server covering the floor while also assisting behind the bar. She was clearly working hard, but it took about 15 minutes just to place drink orders. I also noticed several guests being turned away from the bar and told they needed to order through table service. This wasn’t something I experienced at the previous location, so it was a bit disappointing. Overall, the staff did their best, and I’d consider returning during non-peak hours and hope to see improved staffing on busy nights. Edit If you’re into smoked old fashions, beware that the ones here taste more tobacco-y compared to woody.
I was in from out of town several days before Xmas, and was in the vicinity so from Googling, we ended up here for a quick and basic breakfast. We got basic croissant with egg and cheese buy still, I was impressed! Croissants tasted fresh. There were only a few other people there so I hope it makes more business because its a charming spot and is WOMAN OWNED! The atmosphere is that of a lounge, with several pretty red sofas.. and they've got a few of those popular lit up phrase-signs. It definitely has a different, more unique vibe than most places in Indy. Oh, and make sure you use the restroom, because the decor in there made me giggle out loud to myself!! There you'll find the cat photos that I attached here!
Best espresso martini. So balanced and you can actually taste a great, rich espresso. The espresso martini is not usually my jam because they're often too sweet or full of cream. But Thieves' version is clean, bold, and tasty. Seasonal cocktails were flavorful and fun as well. And it's a cool atmosphere with a little edge.
First time at new location, the service is the same high quality and the drinks still good. The vibes are similar, but this location is a lot brighter. Restrooms are nice and clean. Couches here are very cozy and I like the wired cellphone. One negative is that there is no longer outdoor setting.
Such an adorable quaint cocktail bar! We came from out of town and the bartender gave us lots of good recommendations for this trip & beyond. She was awesome and continued to chat with us while she was closing up. Great drinks, great vibes, would totally go again!
