Union Roasters
2007 Tea Olive Ln STE 103, Coeur d'Alene, ID
Crema's Take
“Union Roasters pulls no punches with their espresso program, defaulting to a generous four shots in every drink for folks who actually want to taste their coffee. Beyond the bold shots, they're equally serious about their matcha and creative specialty drinks, all served in a genuinely cozy space where the baristas treat you like a regular even on your first visit. The pastry case—especially their gluten-free options and housemade banana bread—pairs perfectly with lingering over a properly-sized cup that respects both your time and your thirst.”

I love Unions coffee and that their drinks come with 4 shots of espresso as the default. I’ve yet to find another shop that does that, and I love my shots so this is a game changer and it also helps that the coffee is high quality! Love their seasonal drinks as well and the shops are always cute, clean, and bright!
I’ve come here quite a bit… today I ordered a small latte and it was $4.50. When you order a small latte here it is actually small like 6 to 8 ounces… I gave the girl $.50 tip so I paid five dollars for my very small latte when I went to taste it before I posted this review it is bitter… I think that’s what sent me over the edge to write this review. The space itself is really pretty. The seating is not very comfortable but more importantly the staff always seems very conceited… They have unisex bathrooms which I can’t stand…There are so many coffee shops in this area. If you guys were super busy, and you didn’t have time to say goodbye to me after I said, thank you very loudly then I would understand… But you guys are not that busy and I’ve been in here different times in the day… The only true thing that will keep people coming back is happy, friendly faces, and when a customer says thank you don’t ignore them say thank you back because without us locals… You won’t have a business… one more thing I’ve come in at around 4 PM many times and I have been told many times we close at five… almost trying to make people feel like you shouldn’t really stay here because we’re closing at five… I’ve been to many coffee shops where the girls are cleaning up and working and if you’re there 10 minutes pass the time they close no big deal… I guess you guys are ready to go because you’re not that busy… when I receive good customer service I continue to go back… I don’t think I will be spending five dollars for a very small latte anymore
I'm a dirty chai guy and these folks knock it out of the park. That doesn't mean the rest of the drinks they make aren't fantastic I just don't know. Yet ;) I'm also about 2 seconds away from finding out how their waffles taste n I'll keep you posted. Update: Yup, waffles are legit. We got the Berries n Whip and there's lots of both. Come get sum.
Best matcha in town! Baristas are friendly and helpful! I would recommend the quiche and banana bread. Union has a yummy selection of gluten free baked good. Also I love the super cozy and aesthetic atmosphere.
The original Union is one of my favorite local coffee spots. The people are always friendly and personable, and the coffee is top-notch. This second location is just the same and a little more. Along with some of the best coffee in the area, this Union location sells wine and beer on tap. The food selection ranges from pre-made salads to baked goods and, of course, Union’s waffles. More options are listed on the LCD menu behind the order counter. This location is also bigger and brighter, with more seating (indoor and out back) and parking. I especially appreciated how clean it was and that staff made a point to wipe things down often. I’ll be returning to Union whenever I’m in town.
