Allison's Country Cafe
3429 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA
Crema's Take
“Allison's Country Cafe is a beloved Ventura institution where biscuits and gravy arrive like pillowy clouds and country-style breakfast entrees are prepared with genuine care—think perfectly fried steaks and generous portions that justify the long-standing loyalty from regulars. The quaint, adorably decorated space (duck decorations and all) creates the kind of slow, unhurried dining experience that feels like visiting a friend's kitchen rather than grabbing a quick meal. Fair warning: prices run on the higher side, but the warmth of the place and those legendary biscuits keep people coming back for over a decade.”

This was a lovely little stop! The biscuits and gravy are like clouds with bacon and gravy 💖 I also got the Big John's and it was perfectly fried country steak. So good on top of eggs and potatoes. Ah I was stuffed I couldn't even eat the whole thing! My husband got the corned beef hash and it was so fresh and amazing we will definitely come here again!
I’ve been going to Allison’s Country Café for over 10 years now, and it’s hands-down one of my favorite places to eat. The food is phenomenal—especially everything on the brisket breakfast menu and the lunch plates. I’ve tried just about everything they offer, and the quality has always been top-tier. Great portions, fresh ingredients, and they never cut corners. What really sets this place apart is that they actually care. They keep the menu fresh, the café is always spotless, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Every employee is genuinely kind, the cooks are amazing, and the owners are incredible people. You can feel the pride they put into this place. I’m there at least three times a week, and it never gets old. If you want consistently great food, great people, and a place that feels like home, Allison’s Country Café is it!!! Thank you, Allison’s country Café for your phenomenal food and amazing service!
Extremely overpriced for just okay food. Got a breakfast burrito that was 75% beans. Total for two people, two entries, one coffee came to $43?! The outside patio was a lovely atmosphere and the service was pleasant. But the prices are seriously outrageous so we will not be returning.
Really good breakfast in a very quaint cafe. The food is typical breakfast fare, but feels like its prepared with some extra special care. Portions are generous and the biscuits are enormous. They aren't like any other biscuit I've had - kind of like if a dinner roll and a biscuit had a baby. And the jam was the sweetest I've ever had. Also, I actually like the simple decor with white picket fencing and I noticed just how clean everything was. No dust on the walls or trim. Very nice place
Beautiful little spot, friendly service, and great food. The restaurant itself is super adorable the duck decorations just make it feel so unique. Biscuits were extremely thick, huge, and warm. Delicious with jam. The gravy was just ok. Chilaquiles were delicious 10/10. Honestly my top recommendation. The waffles were good.
