La Panaderia, San Antonio, Texas is a jewel and best kept secret! I ordered their version of the Cuban. What makes their sandwich special is the housemade sandwich breads! Incredible! When you first walk in you'll see their bountiful bakery with traditional Spanish pastries and many others like chocolate tiramisu! Salads are also a lunch favorite and I'm told that their black bean soup is perfection! The servers find a table for you and your party almost immediately. Be patient though, the lines can be about 25minutes wait! But well worth it!
This place was so tasty. The variety of options was amazing. The prices are very affordable for the quality and quantity. The portions are large, and Alfonso is the MAN! He has amazing Customer service. He brought us everything we needed as we dined in. He also had a very outgoing personality and made us a laugh which added to our experience. I definitely recommend this place 100%! The atmosphere is also inviting and open for many people to dine. Must try if you are in San Antonio!
Was hoping the pastry lived up to the hype, but I was not impressed. I had no idea there was a La Panaderia somewhat close to my home, and even more convenient, close to one of my customer's office. Very modern cafe feel to it, and very friendly and helpful employees. I was craving pan dulce when I decided to come here instead, so I only looked at the pastry, not food menu. Not as much variety as I hoped. I chose 4 different pieces,: snickerdoodle croissant, blueberry bear claw, chocolate croissant square and something with dulce de leche/caramel? I got two doodles, so total came out to about $24 for 5 pcs. You definitely have to warm them up a bit (IN THE OVEN!!!) to truly appreciate the butteriness and crispiness of the croissant and the gooeyness of the chocolate. I was disappointed in the lack of the blueberry filling in the bear claw, and felt ho hum about the other pieces. I wouldn't say they were "bad" , just not my cup of tea. My pallet just might not be sophisticated enough for this kinda pastry. I'll stick with good ol pan dulce from Guanajuato Bakery instead. 🤷♂️ *UPDATED: I HAD BEEN ZAPPING THEM IN THE MICRO FOR LIKE 10-15 SECS JUST TO SOFTEN, BUT YOU HAVE TO USE AN OVEN!
Fantastic brunch spot! We ordered the steak and eggs, which were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We also tried the ranchero eggs Benedict, and it was outstanding—the sauce had a great kick and everything was fresh and well-balanced. Portions were generous, presentation was great, and the overall experience was excellent. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to for brunch!
My food was pretty good. I ordered the tequila butter steak and eggs which had a really good flavor. The black bean soup was also really good and came with bread which was delicious for dipping. 9/10 My husband ordered the ranchero eggs Benedict. Very very different than what we were expecting. I don't think he cared for them. Personally I think I didn't have enough egg and too much salsa. Also the type of bread used is better suited for a sandwich. 5/10 I ordered the abuelitas hot coco latte. I didn't quiet finish half. Very very sweet and artificial. Most of the abuelitas flavor came from the chocolate chips. 5/10 The ambiance was very nice. 10/10 Staff was amazing. I wish I had tried the pan dulce. Maybe another day.
