New York City Deli

I used to frequent this place as a FIDM student literally over 12 years ago. And every now and then if I was downtown, I’d stop in. I still think about their food and I’m across the country now. So fresh, tasty, just exactly what you need. Especially because downtown is a bit of a hassle to get food in. The staff were always so friendly and gracious. Very quick too. Highly recommend.

I ordered the sunny Italian on toasted sourdough toast...Mateo made it excellent service, but most of all the sandwich was so good FIRE! I also ordered a Cobb salad that I'm going to eat for dinner tonight...Definitely THE SPOT!

I forgot my breakfast and really wanted a yummy breakfast burrito. I am very picky and sometimes I can't find a breakfast burrito I like. And then I found this place. Wow, this breakfast burrito is one of the BEST I have tasted in LA. It's so so yummy and it's portioned perfectly. I will 1000% be coming back. The man behind the counter was so sweet, I love having a place I can rely on close to my job. Thank you for making my morning so yummy!!!

Honestly, time is precious during lunch, so I love that I can order online or just call ahead. They're always super quick – my order is usually ready for pickup in about 10-15 minutes. Perfect for a grab-and-go situation. My standard order? The hot pastrami sandwich. It's piled high with tender, flavorful pastrami. And to wash it down, I always get an iced hazelnut latte. It's the perfect combo. The staff is always friendly, even when they're busy. It's a classic deli vibe – no frills, just good food and good service. If you're working or visiting Downtown LA and you're craving a delicious, no-nonsense sandwich and a great latte, New York City Deli is a must-try. Five stars for quick service and a killer pastrami!
