Crema's Take
“Brown Butter is a Brooklyn destination where meticulously crafted biscuit sandwiches steal the spotlight, with fans raving about everything from crab cake to honey butter chicken that rivals beloved regional chains. Beyond the exceptional pastries and breakfast fare, they've mastered the art of specialty drinks—think creamy hot chocolate mochas—in a spacious, welcoming cafe that feels purpose-built for lingering over coffee and conversation. The care that goes into each made-to-order sandwich suggests a team that treats their craft seriously, making this spot feel less like a quick grab-and-go and more like a genuine gathering place.”

Better honey butter chicken biscuits than Whataburger 🐓 There’s so much care and attention in each of these biscuits it makes my heart skip a beat. 🥰 Just look at how they neatly fold the egg in the egg biscuit, the way your mom used to fold your clothes.👕 Gravy so good too
Love this place! The biscuit sandwiches are the best! And they had Krémas Hot Chocolate Mocha? Absolutely delicious! My friend ordered a different sandwich, and she LOVED hers as well.
The crab cake biscuit sandwich was absolutely delectable — well worth the extra wait since it’s made to order. The biscuit had the perfect texture with pillowed layers that held everything together beautifully. And those roasted potatoes with the sweet potatoes mixed in? Baybe… a party in your mouth you didn’t even know you needed. My only regret? Not grabbing a plain biscuit on the side to enjoy with some butter and fresh preserves. I’ll definitely be back for that!
The food was… an experience. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and somehow ended up with just a biscuit and an egg. No cheese. No bacon. I don’t know if they thought the “and cheese” was optional or if the bacon took the day off, but it never made it to my plate. I also ordered roasted potatoes, and the description said nothing about sweet potatoes being mixed in. Surprise! There they were. What if I was allergic? That would have been the worst plot twist of the day. The only part of the meal that actually made me happy was the banana walnut slice. That was the star of the show. The biscuit itself was decent, but the egg… well, it was just an egg, and not the one I asked for. Overall, 2 out of 5 stars. Follow the directions, Brown Butter. This is breakfast, not a mystery box challenge.
Great cafe full of wonderful staff! Went here and had the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit with some hot honey and it tasted just like what I used to get in the south. There is plenty of room inside the cafe for a group of friends to join me plus all the space outside in the back. The staff was wonderful and answered all my questions… even found out they have mimosas for real cheap! I’m definitely gonna come back. Brown Butter is yet another great establishment along Tompkins Ave that draws in many from the surrounding neighborhood as well as visitors from all over!
