The Bread Chic
130 W Olive St, Fort Collins, CO
Crema's Take
“This Fort Collins bakery is a sourdough lover's paradise, with reviewers raving about their exceptional loaves (especially the kalamata), buttery pastries that rival dedicated French bakeries, and creative sandwiches built on their own perfectly-crafted bread. The cozy spot welcomes both quick coffee grabs and leisurely sit-downs with friends, making it equally perfect for a rushed morning or a slow afternoon with a cinnamon roll. The genuine excitement in reviews suggests this is the kind of neighborhood gem where the quality of ingredients and craft baking technique genuinely elevates even simple items like a cheese danish.”

Bro I just had the best loaf of my life here. I ate the entire Kalamata loaf for breakfast and I feel amazing. Their cinnamon roll is S-tier as well. Go buy a loaf right now, your day will be better
I went here for the first time the other day. I had a cheese danish and got a loaf of sliced sourdough. Both were so good. So good that I may go again tomorrow! Best sourdough bread and best danish I’ve had in the area.
First time trying this cute little hidden gem. I had a ham and cheese croissant that was made to perfection. Of course I has to get some sweets to go and pot pies that I will try out later. They all look amazing
I was so excited to try this place because of the pictures and reviews. When I walked into the bakery there was a very strange smell. I could not put my finger on it. I really hoped the food did not taste like the smell. I got 4 buttermilk biscuits, a slice of chocolate chip pumpkin bread and a slice of banana bread for ten bucks.. The banana bread was good, not the best I've had but the best out of what I ordered. The pumpkin bread kind of tastes like the smell, it's not bad though, still edible. This morning I put a biscuit in the microwave for a few seconds with butter and honey and I cannot eat it. Whatever the smell was is exactly what the biscuit tastes like. Maybe the buttermilk had spoiled? I could barely swallow. I really really wanted to like this place! I am really sad to give this place a not so great review but I feel like most of my money is wasted as the biscuits were $6.
I love bread chic! Sandwiches are so so good and scones are the perfect texture. Great selection of pastries too. Thought I would try their sourdough pizza dough but was very disappointed when it was difficult to work with and ended up tasting a bit more sour than typical and cooked very inconsistently. Maybe will try another spot for pizza dough next time.
