Daytime
199 Windsor Pl, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“This cozy Brooklyn spot has mastered the art of making guests feel like regulars, with genuinely kind staff and a surprisingly inventive food program where even the classics—like their legendary egg sandwiches with pepper jam and impossibly good biscuits—taste like they've been perfected over years. The coffee is excellent and approachable (their iced cortados are perfectly balanced), but it's really the kitchen that steals the show, turning out creative combinations like brothy seasonal pumpkin soup with grilled cheese that keeps people coming back. It's the kind of place where you can linger with your laptop, chat with neighbors at the bar, and feel genuinely taken care of.”

Kind staff at Daytime who greeted regulars with conversation. I had an iced cortado which was just the right size. Also, I had a breakfast sandwich and was delighted that you can pick and choose some extra add ons. Grabbed an everything croissant that was yummy too but wish I had asked for it to be warmed up because it was a little on the cold side.
I love Daytime. Their food is so fresh and good— not sure what they do to their egg sandwiches but it’s amazing (get the pepper jam). Also, their biscuits are outta this world. My one gripe— 80% of the time I go there, there’s a ridiculously long line. This is on weekdays at random morning times (8:30am on a Wednesday?) and weekends are even worse. When I see it, I dip and go elsewhere. I’m sure the baristas enjoy making bank, but perhaps investing in a second person during regular times would be a good idea so more folks can be served (I think they do this on weekends)? At the very least, something is lacking on management’s part when it comes to optimizing the processes to allow quick service on the part of their staff. Daytime— I’m glad people love you, but it doesn’t need to be this way! Please fix your service time issue. Giving 5 stars regardless because I love you.
Get the grilled cheese & seasonal pumpkin soup!! The soup isn’t traditional, it’s more brothy which I liked. Was a really good flavor combo of cheesy/creamy & a little sweet 😍 affordable too
Food and coffee are excellent. I had the egg sandwich with beer bacon, and it was absolutely delicious. The espresso was smooth, strong, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in the area. The space is beautiful, lots of plants, big windows, and a relaxed design. But the music was way too loud for the morning. Nonstop techno at full volume made it impossible to focus or take calls. I had to leave early to get work done somewhere else. Great place for a quick bite or casual hangout, but definitely not ideal for working remotely unless you’re bringing headphones and don’t mind the volume.
Super cute little cafe. Really interesting menu options + all of the fun drinks! There is a bar for seating + WiFi. Great place to perch and get some work done. Very friendly barista as well!
