Lab Coffee & Roasters
429 N Western Ave #5, Los Angeles, CA
Crema's Take
“LaB Coffee & Roasters is a serious coffee destination run by an owner who judges international coffee competitions, bringing genuine expertise to every cup whether you're ordering a meticulously poured espresso or their house-roasted beans. The shop strikes that rare balance of being both a legitimate specialty coffee spot and a welcoming space to linger—their matcha scone is a standout, the Spanish lattes hit different, and the baristas genuinely seem to enjoy their work. It's the kind of place where coffee craftsmanship matters, but pretension doesn't.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused, with a pour-over program, matcha and tea options too, good cold brew. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Pastries on the menu.

The lady is a great hostess amd barista, the matcha scone is delicious, and the ice cold Spanish latte quenched my thrist in this unusual February heat of LA. The ambience is perfect for working on your laptop, reading your novel abd hanging out with friends 🧡 Must try again…
I wanted to try a new coffee place close to Ktown. Nothing fancy or viral just good coffee. This place roasts their own beans so I was hopeful that it would be good. This place does not disappoint. Excellent espresso made correctly. I will definitely be back to buy some beans…
$9 for a latte felt like a total rip off. The ladies at the counter seemed rude and felt kinda judged just asking for a simple water. No water station in sight. Not worth the price tag for sure. Won't be back.
In my humble opinion, this is hands down the best coffee shop in Los Angeles. The owner isn’t just passionate about coffee—he’s an international coffee competition judge, which speaks volumes about the level of expertise and dedication behind every cup. He sources beans directly…
They’ve put a lot of effort into decorating the café to give it a professional look, but the coffee quality is mediocre. The prices are too high for what you get. It felt like I went expecting Stereoscope, but ended up with an overpriced Starbucks.
