Crema's Take
“This beloved neighborhood institution, founded by two sisters, has earned a reputation as the best coffee in the DC area with rich, smooth espresso drinks that locals genuinely rave about. Beyond the exceptional coffee, Kefa has cultivated a warm, welcoming space that celebrates local artists while serving simple, quality pastries and sandwiches—think croissants with housemade fillings and standout coffee cake. It's the kind of place where you can linger with your laptop, meet a friend, or just sit and savor one of the finest cups you'll find in the region.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Pastries and light food on the menu.

Food is simple. I had a tuna melt on a croissant with Ruffles chips. Coffee crumb cake was really good. Friendly staff.
Best coffee in Maryland and DC. I had a toasted croissant with turkey and cheese along with a latte. The sandwich was delicious. The coffee was rich and smooth. I had a cinnamon bun last time which was also good. The Ethiopian owners also provide a lovely atmosphere.
