Crema's Take

This beloved neighborhood institution has been rooted in Minneapolis for three decades, instantly recognizable by the iconic canoe planter outside and beloved for its thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks like their vegan white cocoa mocha and cardamom-vanilla iced latte alongside Nordic waffles and fresh pastries. Beyond excellent coffee, Nokomis Beach Coffee doubles as a charming gathering spot with an attached gift and frame shop, drawing families and friends for leisurely sit-downs in a genuinely local, independently-owned space that feels like the antithesis of corporate coffee culture. While experiences vary by visit, many regulars praise the friendly atmosphere and quality fare that keeps them returning for years.

Nordic waffle was amazing. Highly recommend. Also, white cocoa is vegan so I had a white cocoa mocha for the first time in years. Thank you, Nokomis Coffee Be sure to check out the cute little shop next door featuring tons of local art

We both loved our soup choices and the coffee was especially good. Very nice gift and frame shop attached. They were selling fresh Christmas trees when we were there too! Worth stopping in for a cuppa Joe and a bite!

Meh was the attitude I received from the employees on a Sunday late morning. Maybe it was the wrong place and wrong time, but zero friendliness and nearing rude. It could have set the tone for everything else, but my chai latte tasted like steamed milk (flavor was weak). Finally, I find it ironic that they offer compostable cups, but they do not compost on site. ¿? I understand someone might at home, but why not set an example in a city that offers composting Meh, I’ll take my money elsewhere.

Very cool local coffee shop! Privately owned. NOT Starbucks! Been here 30 years. Known as the place with a canoe!!!! (Planter) Thank you Kevin! Friendly staff. Good pastries. Of course great coffee!

My husband and I visited Nokomis Beach Coffee, and it was a fantastic experience. I ordered the cardamom and vanilla iced latte along with a Mediterranean wrap, and both were absolutely delicious. My husband decided to ask the barista for their favorite drink and food, and it turned out to be such a great choice that I’m going to do the same next time! The vibe is cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to relax by the lake. We’ll definitely be coming back!
