Black Mesa Coffee Company - Albuquerque
2200 Sunport Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM
Crema's Take
“Nestled in Albuquerque's airport terminal, Black Mesa Coffee Company punches above the typical travel-stop category with genuinely excellent specialty coffees (their chocolate pinion blend has earned serious devotion) and buttery pastries like caramel empanadas that make the early morning rush feel intentional rather than rushed. The espresso drinks are their real strength, paired with a surprisingly robust breakfast menu of fresh avocado toast and flaky bacon croissants that prove you don't have to compromise on quality just because you're catching a flight. While the atmosphere keeps things practical and no-frills, the attentive staff and rotating specialty coffee bags make this the kind of airport stop where travelers actually linger instead of just grabbing and going.”

The cup couldn't hold hot coffee and melted before my ride arrived lol. I've seen compostable cups for hot beverages, but this couldn't be one, no way
Delicious caramel empanadas and hot coffee. Breakfast of champions on the go at the airport! They also have avocado toast, eggs, etc! Great stop when you are at the ABQ International Sunport Airport! ✈️
The atmosphere is nothing special but it is large, the service was a bit confusing. But the reason for the 5 stars is that the specialty coffee in bags is AMAZING. I've tried the chocolate pinion, the biscochitto, and pinon. Talk about flavor! Ground or whole bean, take a taste of the land of enchantment home. I always stock up on it for myself and for gifts. The flavored coffee is perfect, hot or iced. You never know what's going to be in stock but it's sure to be delicious! Only once did they have no specialty flavors, only regular packages. It was good but their flavored coffees are exceptional.
Great location in Terminal A at Albuquerque Airport. Wide selection of drink and food options, they even offer inexpensive Monster energy drinks. Staff was attentive, professional and courtesy. Even with a long line, don't let it discourage you from picking up a drink or snack. I was in and out within 5 minutes with an intimidating line.
Black Mesa Coffee co was pretty good. The bacon breakfast croissant had good flavor and the croissant was nice and flaky. As far as airport food is concerned, it was good and I would stop here again, but it wasn't anything over the top. My biggest complaint was the cost. $14+ feels like a lot even for airport food, but other than that, it was good. I also ordered the iced white chocolate moca which was good as well. No complaints, but also nothing special.
