Fantastic little walk-up counter right on Melrose, with yummy sandwiches! Great little stop if you are walking a dog in the area, with a counter and a tiny seating area. The bread and butter are excellent. I’ve had the Daniel’s favorite, bresaola, jambon buerre, and omelette, and would happily order any of them again. The price can be eye watering, but if you consider the quality, not out of line with say, the pastrami at Langers. If you’re on Too Good to Go, Maison Matho sometimes has “clearance” items, but they sell out really fast!
I’m definitely returning ❣️ I’m telling you highly recommend this French restaurant. I wish I would have taken pictures of the sandwiches we purchased and ate with such pleasure. The ham is perfect in flavor and you can tell on the first bite is not processed meats. The butter spreads creamy and fully flavored. We purchased half sandwiches and it was satisfying but now I would have liked more. Please give them a chance and support this place. Very reasonable prices and the fresh selection of pastries will keep you returning.
This place was really hyped on social media but is lowkey very mid. $12-$13 for only half a sandwich. I got the bresaola and Daniel’s favorite. Didn’t think the lemon and beef in the bresaola went together. Daniel’s favorite was a little better since I like prosciutto. One and done is fine but never coming back. The baguette was ok Vietnamese ones are better.
Finally I got to try this place and yes it’s EVERYTHING I expected and more . We loved it all and will be coming back real soon……… parking is an act of God but the Gods must have been looking out for us and we got parking right in front ♥️
The petite French deli could be easily spotted given its vibrant-colored walls. Parking might be tricky given it resided in the busy Melrose. They did have a cute patio right next to the order counter with few tables available. Most guests either ordered for to-go, or spent few minutes finishing their meals/coffee then left. The pretty simple menu was also an advantage, leading to the swift service. Many people went for their sandwiches, and mostly have common highlight on their top-notch French butter. Always having bias on the sweet side, I opted for their pastries, which obviously did feature the creme de la creme - the butter! I went for their Almond Croissant, which appearance wise might look simple, but trust me the buttery pastry case was extremely luscious. Each bite felt so fragrant and I loved how the almond filling came in 'paste-alike' texture, just like how I loved my almond croissant to be. Despite not served warm, it's amazingly flaky and so spoiling! I would doubtlessly make my way back for their sandwich.
