From Georgia so stopped so stopped in for gluten free pastry and coffee from GF app. Atmosphere was nice. Restroom clean. Server was coridal, but didnt offer coffee or drink suggestions. Out of Gluten-free items. Coffee ordered was horrible. Won't return. UPDATE: Thank you for responding. I would suggest changing some of the wording in your advertisement to let customers know the gluten free items are" limited". See attached screenshot. The way it is currently written suggests that the gf items are in abundance. We did ask to have the coffee altered. The server seemed uninterested but added a small amount of sugar, vanilla and caramel upon request. Small business or not, the review is simply my experience and feelings on yesterday. I find it odd that you feel comfortable monitoring others feelings and what they post. I would have rather you offered a solution instead. Since we are discussing the types of reviews that can be left for a small business, my suggestion would be to lead with your last line: "We are sorry we missed the mark. Yesterday our gluten-free items were limited. We realize they have become very popular, so we are working to increase our stock. Please give us a chance to change your mind. Bring this review and show it to our staff the next time you visit. Even if we have sold out of gluten-free items, we will personally assist you in finding a beverage that suits your needs." This approach acknowledges the customer’s feelings rather than criticizing them for leaving a certain type of review, especially given the realities of running a small business. It also keeps the door open for improvement and future customer satisfaction without offering free items, which can create expectations that are difficult for small businesses to sustain. Additionally, it helps build a positive relationship by inviting the reviewer to return and experience improved service. In doing so, you also create an opportunity for them to reconsider and potentially update their review based on a better future interaction. Be blessed.

I’ve never had anything less than a great experience at either location of Sleepyhead Coffee. The staff is incredibly attentive and always happy to offer thoughtful recommendations. On my last visit, I tried the spiced coconut coffee, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I can never leave without grabbing a donut—this time I chose the coconut maple, which paired perfectly with my drink. The atmosphere strikes a wonderful balance: peaceful and relaxing, yet still inviting and conversational. If you’re visiting the Chattanooga area, I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by Sleepyhead Coffee—you won’t be disappointed!

Sleepyhead is my perfect coffee shop! The breakfast sandwich with an everything bagel and a soy latte make my mornings something to look forward to. The employees are always kind, pleasant, and thoughtful. I would spend hours there if I had them, the space is so welcoming. I love the intentionality behind the vegan food offerings - you don’t get that everywhere. Thank you for supporting local artists. I will always support this business!

My family and I took a day trip to Chattanooga during the holidays, and Sleepyhead Coffee was first on my list—the TikTok recommendations did not disappoint. The space is cute and petite, with such a welcoming vibe. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I couldn’t decide what to order, but I landed on the Lavender Latte with almond milk and a splash of vanilla for sweetness. It was delicious! If you prefer a sweeter drink, I’d recommend adding two or more pumps of vanilla or sweetener of your choice. This also seems like a great spot to get some work done. There’s comfortable seating, plug outlets, and a quiet atmosphere—perfect for meetings or focused work. Definitely recommend visiting!

Oh my goodness, this place is awesome!! So unassuming from the building on the outside, but there’s good parking and the inside is sooo cute. Clean decor style with pops of pink and green, very pleasing to the eyes. Love the natural light and plants. Staff was so kind, and I can appreciate a coffee shop with outlets for charging devices that work well (and your block doesn’t fall out of the socket). I tried the maple cinnamon roll and it was divine. Sweet, of course, but the maple was the perfect amount and the dough was so soft. Getting it warmed up was a game changer. I love how they have clothing you can purchase, and how many options for flavorings and milk. Their bathroom is clean and love how the owners tell their story of how Sleepyhead became Sleepyhead. Will definitely be back and can see myself stopping in quite often!
