The Bagel Den
4801 N University Ave, Orem, UT
Crema's Take
“This Orem spot feels like a cozy neighborhood gathering place where fresh bagels meet creative monthly coffee and chai rotations that keep regulars coming back. The team moves quickly despite the casual vibe, and while consistency seems to occasionally slip, the warm atmosphere and inventive seasonal flavors make it worth a visit, especially if you're bringing family or meeting friends over pastries and thoughtfully made drinks.”

My niece loves this place. Their bagels are fresh, they have a lot of options, and their monthly coffee/chai flavors are really good. They are quick to take your order and are quite friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
I really wanted to like this place, but I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the Carnivore on wheat and an iced oatmilk latte. After a few minutes of waiting at my (sticky) table, I was informed they were out of wheat. Not a huge deal, I got multigrain instead, but the sandwich ended up being pretty dry (and almost cold by the time I received it, which was odd?). I should have asked for some cream cheese to help punch it up, and actually had really meant to, but the gal taking my order was having a hard time hearing me and I think we were both too frustrated to take the extra step to ask and I didn’t want to put her out by making a special request when I had to repeat everything three times before she could hear. It wasn’t loud, per se, but it was echo-ey? Anyway, again not a huge deal because that’s on me for having a quiet voice and not being assertive enough. What I was more disappointed by, though, was that after 15 minutes of not getting my latte, I went to the front to check on it and was quickly told “oh, well we are busy, we will bring it out soon.” Which I get; there wasn’t a line, but there were a few people in the drive thru. So I went back to my corner to work and wait (I’m not sure why but there wasn’t any guest WiFi?). Another 15 minutes passed and I really wished I’d had the latte with the dry sandwich, but it never did come. I touched base with the gal on the way out and mentioned I still hadn’t received it, and she said, “Oh, really?” She made me a latte at that point (took about 30 seconds is all), but she didn’t ask which size I’d ordered, so I ended up with a small instead of a medium. Honestly, it wasn’t like it was a horrible experience or anything, but all the elements combined to make me feel like a forgotten annoyance even when I was trying to be patient and kind. I guess it just meant it’s not the new gem I was hoping to put into my regular working-breakfast rotation.
Went for the first time last week and the only thing im mad about is that i haven’t gone sooner. This place is delicious!! The moment we set foot inside the store we were excited. I love how they display the bagels and all the different flavors. Pumpkin cream cheese was exciting to see. We will be going back soon to try it….we ordered two carnivore sandwiches and they were orgasmic!! They dont skimp on toppings. The employees were very nice. The place was super clean. Love the vw bus art they are creating on the wall. Service was quick. Honestly cant say enough good. Cant wait to come back and try something new and get a drink.
usually we looove bagel den. but you guys… this chocolate chip bagel is honestly embarrassing. whoever put that bagel together should have used some common sense to see that it should not be served. i paid the same price for both of those bagels and the chocolate chip one is equivalent to the heel of a loaf of bread… i tried to go back through to ask for a new one, but by the time i got back, they had closed their drive thru for the day about 2.5 hours before they officially closed. anyway. usually they’re really good, but the bagels were cut so sloppily this time, the drive thru took wayyyy too long for two not even toasted bagels, and then to be served a bagel that looks like that?? very disappointing💔
I’m a big Rich’s Bagels fan so every time I try a new bagel spot I compare it to Rich’s. This place was good and I actually enjoyed it. I’m still a bigger fan of Rich’s BUT I would definitely come back here. The bagels and cream cheese tasted homemade (which I believe they are). I got the garlic bagel with onion and chive cream cheese toasted!
