Finjan Qahwa
3188 Mission St, San Francisco, CA
Crema's Take
“This beloved Mission District gem serves authentic Turkish coffee and Middle Eastern pastries with a warmth that keeps regulars coming back late into the evening. The owner has thoughtfully crafted a spacious, welcoming refuge where families, students, and coffee enthusiasts linger over traditional drinks and the shop's famous pies, all at refreshingly affordable prices. With a patient manager happy to guide you through their specialty offerings and an open-door policy that feels genuinely hospitable, Finjan Qahwa feels less like a trendy coffee stop and more like a neighborhood anchor.”

Wow what a gem. Everything was good! The drinks, food, and service. Manager was very helpful and recommended her favorites. Prices are super affordable and plenty of space to sit and work.
Nice middle eastern cafe offering unique middle eastern and regular coffee. Lots of middle eastern pastries. Shop is open till late and crowded all day. Their pies are very popular and a must try
Would definitely come back. Good late night place to work with wifi. Good amount of tables and seating. I didn’t see any outlets but I think there might’ve been one? Open bathroom- no code needed. Top notch service, warm atmosphere. The only thing is I wish my spinach cheese pie was heated up more bc it was a bit cold inside when I got it. I’m sure if I went up and asked for it to be heated more, it would’ve happened but I couldn’t be bothered and it was still pretty good, even cold. I also got the lavender matcha and later, an andeni chai, which were both good.
Charming addition to the neighborhood! My parents stopped in when they visited and couldn’t stop raving about the Turkish coffee. I came planning to order that too, but instead went with the Finjan Qahwa and walnut baklava. Incredible. The baklava was perfectly flaky and just the right amount of sweet. The Finjan Qahwa stole the show. It came in the cutest little vessel and was unlike any coffee I’ve had. I usually need a splash of milk and a bit of sweetener, but this needed neither. The cardamom was present without overpowering, smooth without bitterness. This isn’t a grab-and-go coffee stop. Come here to sit, order drinks and pastries, and settle in with a book, a game, or good conversation. It’s also open late, which is rare in SF.
This is the *best* spot in town for middle eastern pastries! The owner meticulously and lovingly transformed a dusty corner unit on Mission and Valencia into a soulful coffee shop. Proof of the tastiness is this Basque burnt cheesecake. I couldn’t wait to have a bite before snapping a picture. Try the flavored coffees, the juice mixes and above all you MUST taste the baked pies: spicy chicken, beef, cheese, etc. They resemble a calzone or a πεϊνιρλί for the Greeks. But don’t take all of them on a Friday afternoon, I beg you 🙏🏻 Three of them are mine…. Updated review: New item alert 🚨 Just tried the bee bite. Excellent toaster bread base—think monkey bread—garnished with cream cheese and warm honey. Recommended if you prefer savory flavors. Still with a middle eastern twist with black sesame and mahlep.
