Crema's Take

Bud's is a beloved Interlochen institution that feels more like a spacious community gathering spot than a typical coffee shop, with a rustic charm that locals lean on for everything from quick espresso runs to leisurely breakfast sessions on the patio. The kitchen takes pride in their made-to-order breakfasts and house-made pastries like their standout Hershey chocolate cake and Apple Pie Slab, all served up by genuinely warm staff who know how to make you feel at home. Whether you're settling in for an unhurried morning or grabbing something through the drive thru, the generous layout and friendly vibe make it feel like the kind of place that's woven itself into the fabric of the community.

Pretty nice. Rustic. Very nice atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice patio. Looks like they have a drive thru, but maybe it's just a drive thru pickup, not sure.

Cute, clean rustic outdoorsy coffee/sandwich/sweet shop. Very friendly staff, good breakfasts and coffee. The Hershey chocolate cake was so good as was the Apple Pie Slab. The cashier warmed it up for me when I asked. They also have a nice outdoor eating area.

Bud’s is such an Interlochen staple — don’t know what I would do without it. Was a great spot to meet during summer camp and it’s such a large space that it never feels too crowded. Luckily it’s super close to campus and you can walk there! Good coffee, breakfast and lunch!

Breakfast at Bud's in Interlochen. Like a Coffee House, sort of, but bigger.. Order food at the counter and they bring it to you by calling your name. Good flavor on the French Toast. There is a patio you can enjoy a lunch sandwich. Dark cabin ambiance. A must go if up in the area.

We came here for a quick breakfast. We had three orders of two eggs, protein and a bread. I had an over easy, bacon and rye bread. My wife had scrambled, bacon and cinnamon swirl. My daughter had scrambled, croissant and bacon. We also had an order of French toast for my other daughter and her fiancé. Overall the food was good. We had to wait a bit but was expected due to the time of day. The ambiance of the location was great. We would come back again to this location
