Palate

Crema's Take
“Tucked into Bend's bustling scene, Palate stands apart for its obsessive commitment to quality control—the owners are visibly present and hands-on, ensuring every espresso shot and milk pour meets their exacting standards. The low-key, cozy atmosphere pairs perfectly with thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks and an ever-changing lineup of scratch-made food from the trucks stationed behind the counter, making it the kind of place that transforms how you think about coffee.”

Love the low-key, cozy vibe here! Coffee is great, and the food trucks behind the coffee bar serve up some tasty, scratch-made grub!
This place has completely ruined me with coffee. Owners are very involved with the business and quality control. I have never seen a coffee shop so concerned with quality control. It’s not uncommon for baristas to regularly quality test shots that comes out of the machine and not uncommon to see them dump out a shot, readjust the grind due to humidity, pressure in the room, or just because they aren’t feeling it. They live for coffee and will nerd out about coffee to the point where you will go cross eyed. Every where I go outside of Palate (with an exception to Still Vibrato), I will always think “This doesn’t touch the quality of Palate. What am I doing here.” However, I don’t drink coffee for the caffeine because genetically I have a very low tolerance so I stick with decaf MOST of the time. Occasionally, I’ll get the real deal so I can see into the future a few hundred years but that’s followed by palpitations and paralysis. That said, it gives me more reason to be particular. It’s not just about the coffee, they take a lot of pride in their atmosphere and are very intentional about who they hire which is why great conversation happens here and they have very low turnover. If you like the burnt roast like what Starbucks does, you may not enjoy this as much.
Adorable and DELICIOUS coffee. Latte was actually amazing — rare find in touristy places like Bend. Thank you for getting my latte foam perfect!
If I could only go to one coffee shop fit the rest of my life, it would be Palate! Jason (owner) is a beautiful human being and incredibly kind and welcoming. I am here once a week still even we live 20 minutes away. It's worth it for the vibe and the good beverages for sure!
Jodi & Eric team up well to give one the best cafe experience!! I enjoyed a tiki muffin, brand new & amazing!! Eric has great knowledge Jodi magically made the best maple latte!! Great non dairy choices oat, almond, coconut & the muffin was gluten free, taste sensational. I don’t look for gluten free, this was beyond tasty. I’ll go back when in town again!!!
