The Flour Girl Cafe
16 Main St, Glastonbury, CT
Crema's Take
“The Flour Girl Cafe has built a loyal following in Glastonbury with its thoughtfully crafted sandwiches and beverages that punch above their weight despite a compact menu, earning particular praise for quality ingredients and flavor. The upstairs area is a genuine haven for remote workers and students seeking focused quiet time, though recent visitors note the shop seems to be struggling with consistency since a move, with some reporting smaller portions and quality dips that have disappointed longtime fans. Staff warmth and the inviting, family-friendly atmosphere keep many coming back, even as some wish the cafe could recapture its earlier magic.”

Love to come here whenever I can. The food is great and so is the coffee. I also like to come here to study. The upstairs area is quiet and a nice place to get work done. There are a few small tables and plugs for your computer.
I loved this place when it first opened but lately its gone downhill. Food and drinks are majorly expensive for smaller portions, the cookies are always rock hard and most of the desserts and bread are dry. The iced coffee is also bad - i think they make the espresso in advanceband chill it so if you dont have a super sweet latte it tastes bitter. Its disappointing because I used to love this place.
Gave them a try after a suggestion. You might think the menu is small, but it sure isn't lacking in flavor. The sandwiches are outstanding, along with the chips and dip. Beverages are also made with quality ingredients at super reasonable prices. The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
The Flour Girl Cafe is definitely one of the best places in CT to eat at! I come here all the time and it never disappoints!! The staff is absolutely amazing and the food is always delicious! I’ve never had a bad experience here! They also have a bakery literally right next door along with a Christmas shop! Hebron is very lucky to have this hidden gem here! I’ll always return and I look forward every single time I come back! Thank you for always giving an amazing experience!
Flour Girl before the move, 5 stars. After, 2 stars (a true 3 minus 1 because it hurts after being so awesome before). I don’t know if they had to cut costs to pay for the new building or what, but all the stuff we loved has been replaced with lower quality filler. The Boss sandwich has half the meat and replaced artichokes with an inedible olive spread. The creative, homemade pasta salad sides are replaced with cheap chips. The chocolate chip cookies - which used to rank among the best I’ve ever had - now use bland, low-quality chocolate and something about the batter has changed (maybe less baking powder??) making them taste more like dry cookies you’d get in a grocery store deli. Plus there are lots of undisclosed upcharges for different bread choices etc (I totally get the need to up charge, but show the costs on the menu). Also you have to bus your plates on the same space as the coffee creamer and tea, so you’re fixing up your coffee inches from someone’s dirty plates. The coffee fixing / bus table is also separated from the dining area by the line waiting to order, so you have to awkwardly apologize to get past people with your coffee and your dirty plates. They also did away with the best thing on the menu (quiche). I am in mourning.
