Crema's Take

French Meadow Bakery & Café is a beloved Saint Paul institution that excels at inventive vegetarian fare alongside excellent pastries and full breakfast spreads, with standout dishes like their remarkably crispy earth wings and sesame barbecue sauce that reviewers wish they could bottle. The bright, welcoming space strikes that perfect balance between a serious café for solo work and a warm gathering spot for friends and families, with plenty of gluten-free options making everyone feel included. While consistency can occasionally waver with delivery orders, the in-person experience draws consistent praise for its thoughtful food, genuine hospitality, and the kind of atmosphere that makes lingering over coffee feel like the whole point.

The earth wings are the best cauliflower wings I’ve ever had. They are super crispy and the dipping sauce that it comes with is also really good. The beans on the healing plate were mashed which isn’t my favorite. Quesadilla and burrito were really good. Overall, this is one of my favorite vegan places in Minneapolis/St.Paul are.

The quesadilla was perfect! The cauliflower was good too, I would buy the sesame barbecue sauce by the bottle if they sold it. The kiwi bird mocktail was nothing special just ok.

Very nice place to sit with very good food. We enjoyed service and atmosphere. Also a lot of glutenfree options available.

i ordered from doordash and got the most disgusting, slimy, rotten salad ever. the lyndale location does not have this quality issue. rotten cucumbers, slimy lettuce, brown guacamole, crusty hummus, and the berry on my cake has mold on it.

A buddy recommend this place so came to try their breakfast. They have lots of options for both eats and desserts. The croissant breakfast sandwich was tasty and the salad fresh. The French toast was also really good. Their coffee has unlimited refills which is always a nice touch. Service was fast. I’d come back to try some of their sweets. I’d give it a 4.5 overall.
