Crema's Take
“The Sidewalk Cafe trades specialty coffee precision for something better: a ramshackle Venice Beach institution where strong cocktails and solid comfort food fuel hours of people-watching from prime oceanfront seating. It's unapologetically worn around the edges, with inconsistent food quality that you'll overlook because you're too busy soaking in the beachside energy and nursing a cold drink. Go for the atmosphere and the Bacon Blue Cheese burger on a lazy afternoon, not if you're seeking carefully crafted espresso drinks.”
What to expect
Specialty coffee. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Dog friendly. Family friendly. Parking available.

The beer is cold and the food is pretty decent. The place is a little run down, but so is most of Venice Beach. This is probably a great place during summer afternoons to enjoy a cold drink. I experienced dinner on a Weds (1/14/26) January...a time where some grime isn't as…
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant. The chicken in the burrito was undercooked and had an unpleasant taste, which is unacceptable from a food safety perspective. The enchilada my wife ordered was also very disappointing. Overall, this was a very poor dining…
The Sidewalk Cafe is truly one of my favorite places to eat, and their Bacon Blue Cheese Burger proves exactly why. The burger was spot-on — juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The combination of smoky, crispy bacon with the bold tang of blue cheese is unreal. Every bite…
Had a late lunch here while walking along Venice Beach. We had the chips with guacomole and salsa. Guac was homemade and delicious, not a fan of their salsa (it was too watery). We also had their Chinese chicken salad and it was okay. I just feel like there was too much dressing…
