Crema's Take

Monkey Dog Coffee is a refreshingly unpretentious neighborhood gem where the staff actually makes you feel welcome without the performative friendliness you'd find in trendier spots. The kitchen nails simple breakfast classics like their standout Monk-griddle sandwich, while the coffee is consistently solid and never overshadowed by heavy-handed syrups, making it the kind of place where you can linger with a friend or grab something quick before heading to the mountains.

I didn't know this place existed! Found it online as I was looking for a new coffee place to meet a friend. We both loved this cute and comfortable coffee shop. Simple breakfast menu and food is good..

As someone traveling from SoCal…I miss these type of coffee shops. Low key, fast, hella friendly staff who doesn’t make you feel like you are a bother until they see the tip screen (LA things) before turning up the charm. PLUS LOOK AT THAT BENDY STRAWWWWWW! 10/10, no additional notes.

I stopped here before heading back home to LA, I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town. We tried the Monk-griddle sandwich 9/10, I loved that the syrup wasn’t overpowering. For coffee I tried the Brass Monkey 8/10 Mazapan 8/10. Staff 10/10.

Not a great first impression. Barista got my order incorrect. I also ordered a "Not the Gumdrop buttons " not a fan, but thats expected when trying something new. Location seemed okay, but there was a homeless man sitting talking to himself. Also not an issue as he didnt bother us. Wouldn't visit again. It was just blah. Nothing special.

we wanted a quick breakfast on the run to go to the Seco national Park. We decided to try this place because we found it online. Overall, the food was fantastic. The coffee was really good four out of five people who got coffee loved it. The one guy we have that’s a coffee junkie thought his iced coffee didn’t have enough kick lol
