Country Fisherman Cafe
412 Roberts St, Pearl, MS
Crema's Take
“Tucked away in Pearl, Country Fisherman Cafe serves up genuine Southern comfort with a nostalgic, homey atmosphere that feels like stepping into your grandmother's kitchen. Their cafeteria-style meat-and-three offerings feature standout fried chicken and fresh vegetables in generous portions that keep locals coming back multiple times a month. Fair warning: portions and pricing can be polarizing depending on expectations, but those seeking authentic soul food and old-fashioned hospitality in a delightfully dated dining room will find exactly what they're looking for.”

I don't want to even leave 1 star. Food is cold. Tiny portions. Too expensive you get 2 meats, 2 veg. 1 dessert, 1 drink. It was 3 adult plates cost $56.89. When I told waitress the peach cobbler was not good. She's say we're not a buffet, you can't get another one sorry unless you want to pay extra. The peaches were out of can and were crunchy like it was not ripe fruit. Crust was ice cold and gooey. We didn't eat it. You can go to Berry's in Florence for same price. The buffet is way better 😋 at Berry's
Great cafeteria style lunch. The fried chicken along with all the vegetables are exceptional.
I eat here at least 2-3 times a month. The decor is very dated but not shabby. It has that back in the day feeling when you walk in the door. Like grandmas house and simpler times. The food is like going to Grandma's too. Food for the soul. And you get your money's worth. One of my favorite places in town.
Country Fisherman Cafe is a true home-cooked, southern meat and three. Not only is the food delicious, but the portions are huge. You will not leave here unsatisfied. There are so many choices that we decided to all get a little something different to try as much as we could. The catfish, greens, rutabaga, and sweet potato pie were our favorites, but everything we tried was delicious. The service was outstanding. My daughter spilled her water, and they were so kind and understanding. They wouldn’t even let us clean it up. Between the southern hospitality and the southern cooking, this place can’t be beat.
I ended up arriving into town very early and was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. I asked the van driver. Kevin, about a real good soul food place and he recommended I try this establishment. Boy ol boy they did not disappoint! I cohosh believe they had turkey necks. Most ppl don't even know what that is and if they do they most definitely don't know how to cook them. I was very surprised at the flavor and how delicious the food was here. I will most definitely be trying more dishes here when I come into town!
