Librae Bakery
35 Cooper Sq, New York, NY
Crema's Take
“Librae Bakery is a beloved neighborhood spot with an Instagram-famous pistachio rose croissant that lives up to the hype—massive, flaky, and filled with a delicate pistachio cream that hints of rose. Beyond the pastries, it's a welcoming place to linger over a carefully made pour over or flat white, with plenty of indoor seating and genuinely attentive service that makes it ideal for meeting friends or settling in for a slow morning. Get there early to beat the line and snag one of their pastries while they're fresh.”

Cute little bakery that we found while staying at the Standard hotel next door. Good service and nice indoor seating. The pastries all look incredible. The pistachio rose croissant is delicious and the cold brew is relatively smooth. They have some unique cookie flavors as well like earl grey and ginger molasses. I would probably stop by again next time I am in the area just to try some other pastries they offer. Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and well kept. Comfortable indoor seating.
Arrived in the morning on a Tuesday and there was no line, lots of pastries available, and it was easy to get a seat. Tried their famous pistachio rose. It was huge and filling! Crispy and flaky, it makes a mess with every bite. Not too sweet and very pistachio-forward in flavour, so if you like pistachio, you'll like this! People talk about the price tag, which gone up to $8.75, but it is big and covered/filled with relatively expensive nuts.
As a bakery lover, I had to try this trendy bakery I kept seeing on social media — and I was completely won over. I ordered the pistachio cookie croissant, filled with pistachio cream and topped with even more pistachios. Pistachios everywhere — and it was absolutely delicious. That said, it’s definitely a very rich pastry. By the end, it felt a bit heavy and slightly too sweet, so I probably shouldn’t have eaten the whole thing in one go. But that’s exactly what you expect from an indulgent treat, and overall, I was very satisfied. There are so many options that choosing is honestly hard — everything looks tempting, and it made me want to try everything. I’ll definitely be back. When I went, there was no seating available, so expect to eat standing, take it to go, or come at off-peak hours. It’s clearly a very popular spot, and I understand why. Side note: the experience would honestly be a 10/10 if the staff were a bit more welcoming and smiling. A warmer service would really elevate the overall experience.
There is usually a line outside this bakery so get there early! I got the famous pistachio and rose croissant— perfectly crispy and filled with pistachio cream and topped with roasted pistachios. It’s just really buttery and greasy like the oil soaked through the bag and if you squeeze the croissant at the end, oil will come out… it’s definitely really good but it could get sickening I shared it with someone else. The loomi babka was a lot better in terms of oil. Crispy but very soft on the inside and it had lemony filling inside. I’m not a big fan of lemon flavoured things but it was decent
Stopped by Librae to grab a pistachio rose croissant and a flat white. The croissant was massive - super flaky with beautiful layers and a decadent pistachio cream filling that carried a subtle rose note in each bite. It’s rich & indulgent and definitely big enough to share. The flat white was smooth and a perfect afternoon pick me up.
