This is a new chocolate fish location in the Central Valley! I'm familiar with the locations in Sacramento and a fan of their coffee beans. So stoked to finally have one closer to home. Overall, I'm still pretty satisfied with the coffee! I had a lavender latte and ordered earl grey scones and homemade pop tart. All items were good! I'll def be back for the coffee though! I hope they have a good stock of coffee beans too, as that is what they are famous for. This is the location for former Preservation coffee so don't know why there are reviews for them on this Chocolate fish google location....

I typically don't leave bad reviews, but I just had a bad experience here. I ordered a small iced Matcha and an avocado toast with egg. The matcha still had unmixed powder sitting at the bottom and it was unsweetened. There was nothing on the menu about needing to add a sweetener to the matcha. I kindly let the barista know I didn't like my drink, and if I could get a new drink, like the honeycomb latte that my friends had (that tasted good). They said they don't exchange drinks. She asked why I didn't like it and I said because it wasn't sweet. She just asked if I asked for sweetener and I let her know that I didn't. I didn't know I needed to, as it didn't indicate this on the menu nor were there any extras listed. She charged me the 80 something cents to add syrup. I was just astounded my drink couldn't be remade or I couldn't just get another drink. Also the egg on the avocado toast was just a sliced hard boiled egg on top. Overall, the food and drink sucked and the baristas just made me feel like I was the problem for the terrible matcha. Go to Penny's for better Matcha.

A great way to stop regretting the loss of Preservation Coffee, which used to be in this space. The vibe is now warm minimalist rather than indie hipster, though it’s only the soft open so we’ll see. Hands-down winner for bakery program: get a cupcake. These are perfect cupcakes. Get a honeycomb latte: it’s beautifully balanced, gently sweet, with amazing foam. Staff is friendly. If the door gives you trouble, lift up slightly as you push. It’s well worth fighting the door for this coffee!

This cozy coffee spot gives me HUGE Los Angeles city vibes. Very chill, has some good ol' VCR tapes and a tiny cute TV playing movies. I got the original Mocha Coffee with Oatmilk instead of regular milk. I also ordered one ham and cheese croissant. Which was pleasantly filling. The coffee didn't taste very strong and actually was very tasty. Not too sweet and not bitter at all. Would definitely visit again if Im in the area. The lady serving me coffee (I forgot to ask for her name) was very attentive and quick with my order. Overall it's great.

4.5 + stars . It’s Family time out for coffee after lunch. We had 2 Big kid hot chocolate, w/ cinnamon, a vanilla latte ( almond milk ) for one and I had the mocha. Mine was smooth and good taste.. the kids enjoyed their coco’s. Downtown Modesto on a frigid afternoon today. A quaint tidy place to hangout for a short time. As always, post wherever your heart desire.
