Bread House

Crema's Take

Bread House is a no-frills neighborhood bakery that excels at what it does: turning out consistently fresh, generously-filled pastries and traditional Chinese baked goods at prices that feel like a steal. The cream buns, almond cookies, and savory options like tuna and pork buns draw a loyal local crowd, especially early in the morning when everything's still warm from the ovens. Fair warning that the staff speaks primarily Cantonese, which can make ordering feel isolating if you don't speak the language, but the quality and authenticity of the food speaks for itself.

Terrible customer service. If you don’t speak Cantonese, don’t expect anyone to help or even answer your questions, the staff completely ignore you, which makes the whole experience frustrating and unwelcoming. If you’re looking for fresh buns, try Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery instead. For desserts or cheesecakes, Green Island Cheesecake is a much better choice. You can immediately feel the difference as soon as you walk through their doors.

Stopped by and picked up a cream bun, a coconut cream bun, and some cookies for later. The cream bun and coconut cream bun were generously filled with cream and tasted fresh and delicious. The cookies were delicious and addictively crunchy. The chocolate chip cookies were full of nuts, chocolate, and toasted coconut while the small pecan sandies had a delicate toothsome hint of sweetness. The woman behind the counter was very kind and helpful! A lovely little bakery.

DELICIOUS almond cookies and a large variety of sweet & savory breads to choose from. I probably went too late because a lot of things were sold out, but there were still a lot of tasty options!

I'm a hawaiian guy from Kāne'ohe and my Chinese neighbor introduced me to this place. We stop here in the morning, super fresh, cheap, all kine recipes and quick! my favorite is the Tuna bun, green tea bun, bacon and corn. They are all good

A variety of delicious and affordable pastries! Came here around 10 am and bought a pork bun and pineapple bun. The bread was soft and tastes fresh.
