Crema's Take

This East Village institution has mastered the art of the neighborhood coffee shop—regulars come back for years for their reliably excellent lattes, but stay for the cozy, artsy atmosphere and genuinely sweet staff who make you feel welcomed every time. Beyond coffee, their full breakfast and brunch menu delivers (the tomato soup and "love salad" are standouts), making it the kind of place that works equally well for a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely meal with friends. It's the rare spot that feels both effortlessly cool and genuinely comforting.

Have been coming here for years, mostly for take out coffee. The staff is friendly and so efficient, I love watching them work. Consistent lattes every time, my go to coffee spot in the East Village. Also a great place to catch up with friends, fun btg wine offerings.

Amazing brunch spot! The most delicious meals every time, especially the love salad. Also the decorations and space itself give a very cool artsy vibe. Only downsides are small portions on the mimosas, and often long wait times.

Came here on a Monday around 11:30 for MLK Day and there was a short wait for a table of two, which honestly felt like a good sign. Once inside, the space really opens up toward the back with more seating, and the big windows back there make the lighting super vibey and cozy ✨ They offer a prix fixe menu, which felt like a great deal. I got drip coffee, fresh orange juice, and the French breakfast plate with potatoes, a croissant, eggs, and sausage 🥐🍳 The potatoes were solid and the croissant was flaky and buttery. The sausage did throw me off a little since it came as small cut up pieces instead of a patty, but overall everything still tasted good. Cute atmosphere, good value, and a nice spot for a chill brunch or coffee date. I’d definitely come back ☕️💛

Stumbled upon Mud about 4 years ago and make it a point to stop by every time I visit from CT. Staff is always pleasant and attentive, the ambiance is cozy & nostalgic, and the food is always banging. Not to mention, the coffee? Best in the borough. 10/10. love u guys
