Amer's Delicatessen

Crema's Take
“Amer's feels like a genuine neighborhood gathering spot where the coffee is just the opening act to a seriously impressive deli menu featuring house-made crepes, towering sandwiches (the Pastrami Reuben and megawich are standouts), and a handwritten chalkboard that's almost overwhelming in the best way. The vibe is warm and welcoming—families linger after church, folks pop in between movies, and the staff moves with the kind of ease that comes from actually caring about getting orders right and getting them out fast. It's the kind of place where quality ingredients and real care show up in every detail, from the unexpected crepes to the meticulously built sandwiches on excellent bread.”

Amer’s is simply great. I’ve come here several times after church w my boys and the food is high quality, great value and delicious. I’ve gotten the Reuben and the ny dog as well as the Parmesan cheese fries which are amazing! The service is wonderful, and the prices are low in particular for downtown Ann Arbor. They also have a frozen yogurt bar which I can’t wait to try this summer.
Food was good, came quick, very good service. The banana and Nutella crepe was excellent, megawich was excellent. Omelet was pretty basic, it had red onions, which I've never seen in an omelet before, and I hated because red onions are a scourge on society over the last ten yours (although I'm not taking any stars off for it... But they should note that.... Red onion don't belong in an omelet... Or on earth).
Plenty of sandwiches, salads and coffee. We ordered 2 sandwiches and a bag of chips with coffee. First sandwich, the double bite, has ham salami and mortadella in an onion bread with tomato and lettuce and balsamic vinegar. It has plenty of meat, which is usually like, however the Salami overtook the taste of the other meats, that i did not like. I also wasn’t a big fan of the balsamic with it but thats on me. It comes with two pickles on the side, i liked one and did not like the other. Second sandwich, Beef it up, roast beef with coleslaw and Russian dressing. Roast beef and slaw were very tasty, bread was good. Same with the pickles. Double bite was for 17.99 and beef it up 14.99, the double bite was definitely not worth the money as for the beef it up it was. Big bag of chips was 4.75. Staff were kind and friendly, especially the young lady working there. The atmosphere is nice, plenty of shared tables and some privates. I would say it is worth a try if you get lucky with your order as there are about 50+ sandwiches on the menu. Value for money, was not worth it for me, a little over priced. May visit again.
Came in and had read the menu online, thank god because if not, I would have been completely overwhelmed with the handwritten chalkboard menu above the cases. I was already overwhelmed trying to order for my kids, at least I knew what I wanted. I placed our order for three sandwiches and two orders of fries and they said the total was $78!!!! I was like um that seems wrong, so the guy tried to ring it up different ways and every time it came to a different amount. The line was getting long behind us and I was getting impatient. He said it is $62, sorry. I still thought that was high but I paid, then I said that was the cost for three small sandwiches and two fries? And he said oh you wanted small sandwiches? (I had my two kids with me, of course I did!). Then he had to get someone to refund me and start over, my total ended up being $58, but when I got home it was supposed to be $48, so I was clearly overcharged! No itemized receipt to check and not happy about it. Food was just ok, and very busy atmosphere with shared tables. I got the Double Bite sandwich with fries. My daughter got a Plain Jane with ham and took one bite and wouldn’t eat any more.
Great find. Went here after a movie at the Michigan Theater. On a quest to try places in A2 we haven’t been to. Didn’t disappoint. Super friendly staff and great food. I had Pastrami Reuben on Pumpernickel and wife had BLT with Turkey. We split fries. Really enjoyed the Sammie’s. Will be back for sure.
