Crema's Take

Tucked into Sacramento's sprawl of chain establishments, Temple Coffee Roasters stands out as a genuinely artisan refuge where baristas treat coffee with real intention—whether you're ordering a meticulously pulled espresso or a carefully poured single-origin pour over. The expansive, thoughtfully designed space strikes that rare balance of being quiet and contemplative (library-like for focus work) while still feeling alive, with comfy seating that actually exists and both indoor and outdoor spots where you can linger without feeling rushed or crowded out. It's the kind of place where the coffee is excellent enough to justify a trip and the atmosphere is welcoming enough that you'll want to stay.

Real coffee shop, artisan level, with a personal touch. In this city with miles of brand-new strip malls and new-school walk-up restaurants, and where customers mostly order via tablet, and where some baristas barely look your way, Temple was such a welcome alternative. In the Midtown area, they seem to be open later than many coffee shops. It was really nice to get a quality cup of coffee at that time of night, which usually is reserved for that corporate chain we love to avoid. I would most definitely trust a return trip for a decent cup of coffee or flat white.

Don't bother. Overhyped. It's quite beautiful inside and the Temple line of stores is generally tasty, but with the atrocious parking situation, a line out the door, and consistently nowhere to sit, there's no point. You'll just waste a ton of time trying to get in and out with a pricey coffee when there are a multitude of other options around town. Ended up going to Shahmaran across town which is gorgeous, spacious, calm, has tons of free parking, and customer service is excellent.

This is a big beautiful open space. We came in on Wednesday about 7pm and the comfy seats were packed. There was a long line but barista was taking orders before the register so it moved quickly. The staff was smiling and friendly. The coffee was good. Like I said it was packed, but not loud. Felt like several study groups, all taking in hushed whispers.

The place was cool. Super quiet like a library so if you are looking for that, you'll love it. People did have their conversations but very calm, light music. Coffee is good. Had a cool "breaking bad" coffee system.

Excellent quality coffee and friendly service. This location seems to be one of their bigger ones, with lots of seating and tables (but not where it’s jammed packed) both inside and outside, open ceilings - really nice relaxed vibe here and aesthetically pleasing.
