Carmella's

I intentionally waited a year to leave a review so I could get a true feel for this place, and I’m so glad I did. Recently, Carmella's started offering sit-down restaurant service, and the food is absolutely incredible. As an Italian-American from Brooklyn, I’m notoriously picky about my Italian food, but Carmella’s transported me right back to the old neighborhood. Their Chicken Piccata is out of this world, so delicious that I’ve already been back twice just to order it again. Between the amazing wine selection, the gourmet market offerings, and the incredibly welcoming staff, this is exactly what our neighborhood needed. Do yourself a favor and get dinner here tonight!

I love this place! It’s pretty consistent which is a wonderful feature when it comes to great pizza! Their crust is amazing and they’ll do just about anything you ask to your pie! And if you’re wondering, the large is a 30% better value if you eat the crust! I’d add a photo but we eat it hot and there’s never any leftovers!

We came in for dinner, the night before we fly back to Massachusetts, because nobody wanted to do any more dishes and pizza sounded good. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our server Addy came to take a drink order right away. She was incredibly patient with my indecision with the beer options and allowed us enough time for me to choose. We ended up ordering the large Moneyball, the Cacio e Pepe cauliflower, and a Caesar salad. The salad had a nice light dressing and crisp lettuce, pairing perfectly with the delicious pizza. The cauliflower was tender and flavorful. We loved the pizza. The meatballs were thinly sliced, crust was crisp, and the ricotta was creamy and slightly sweet. My wife is picky when it comes to pizza and we would definitely return next time we’re in town. After a meal, don’t forget to browse the market. The miso caramel banana pudding was unique and I’d love to try their cannoli cake sometime. Nice local beer selection too. Now to book another trip to Denver…

Had an event on this side of town, so my friend and I decided to beat traffic and check this place out before. There's a high-end specialty food market with a well-curated offering high quality items and a nice selection of beer and wine. On the other side there's an eatery with apps, salads, pizza, sandwiches, and Italian entrees. I was pleasantly surprised to find find a variety of lambic and enjoyed a new -to-me grape varietal of Tilquin. We also have the meatball appetizer and the margarita pizza, both were quite delicious! I really liked the addition of giardinera in the red sauce that came with the meatballs, it added a nice kick of Chicago flair. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza! One of the better ones I've had in Denver. Both were very flavorful with quality fresh ingredients. I would recommend this spot for a casual lunch or dinner! They also had a coffee bar and a selection of tasty-looking desserts. Service was great too.

Needed a quick dinner tonight and stopped by Carmella's. Grabbed a slice of pizza for the kiddo and a salad for myself - while waiting I spotted cannolis and they filled them fresh right in front of us! This is such a gem in our area and just wanted to express my gratitude. I feel like I've been there several times and have barely scratched the surface of all that they offer!
