Crema's Take

Borinquen Bakery's tembleque matcha and creative Latin-inspired specialty drinks (guava and queso latte, anyone?) draw consistent crowds willing to wait in long lines, and they're worth it for the genuinely excellent pastries and impossibly soft, fresh-baked bread that makes even simple items taste special. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with genuinely friendly service, making it as much a neighborhood gathering spot as a coffee destination. Come hungry for a full breakfast or lunch menu, though consistency varies slightly depending on what you order and who's behind the counter.

What to expect

Strong matcha and tea selection, with creative signature drinks. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Parking available.

Very nice place, line moved quickly even though there were a lot of people. The tembleque matcha is so so so good! The guava and queso latte was good but I don’t find much queso flavor on it. The guayaba and queso quesitos are also delicious, can’t wait to go back!

Stopped in to grab a loaf of sweet bread and a pastry to bring home. I got an Apple turnover and a guava pastry. The Apple turnover was delicious and the bread was so soft and still warm. Service here was great. Prices are fair too. Clean establishment.
