Three Ships Coffee Roasters
400 Granby St St 100, Chesapeake, VA
Crema's Take
“Three Ships Coffee Roasters is a reliable stop near the bay with a genuinely solid tea selection and surprisingly excellent baked goods—their muffins and egg and cheese biscuits consistently win over regulars. The pour-over coffee and calm atmosphere make it a comfortable place to linger, though you'll want to stick to their pastries and breakfast items rather than adventuring into their heavier food offerings.”

I would not recommend getting food here other than the baked goods. Breakfast burrito was nothing special. My chai was fine. Liked my gluten free muffin a lot! Nice atmosphere and other items to look at.
We stopped here, remembering a nice coffee place our way to the bay bridge/tunnel. It wasn't the place we remembered, but thought "let's try it." This was about 12:30 on Feb 16, 2026 at the Granby Rd location.. We walked in and stood at the counter. Two employees were in conversation and looked over at us. I waited several minutes, then asked if they were open. At that point, the woman walked over. We ordered two lattes and asked form the milk to be extra hot. She quickly made the lattes and ignored my request. My impression is that here is a place where employees clearly don't care about the establishment or the customers. My recommendation is to go elsewhere.
Their tea selection is quite good, and their egg & cheese biscuits are so yummy. I also love the breakfast burritos & my husband loves the drip coffee. The muffins are amazing. The staff is always so chill. Nice calm place to go to get caffeinated :)
I went in to try out this establishment. I requested and was charged for decaf coffee which Mikhala said she could make. She present me with a double espresso in which I don’t drink and never order! She then stated she could refund my $6.13 for the plain black decaf coffee I requested. And instructed me to email her boss Brad. The email bounced back of course. And I still haven’t received my refund for the error that they caused.
First time in and honestly I’m a bit disappointed for what I got and what I paid. Was extremely expensive for a vanilla latte with a milk substitute plus a breakfast sandwich. The latte almost had a bitter taste to it and so small for a $8-9 coffee, and the sandwich was clearly not anything special (for as much as they hype it up). I’m all for supporting smaller local spots, but I can spend $20 at a local coffee spot a block or two down for something a little worth my money.
