Crema's Take
“Tucked into Colorado Springs with views of the red rocks, Pikes Perk Mountain Shadows is a nostalgic throwback to pre-chain coffee culture, where the espresso is treated with real care and the pace encourages lingering conversations over a slow sit. The shop has earned genuine affection from regulars who praise the staff's warmth and the quality of their craft—though recent reviews suggest some inconsistency in execution and reliability. If you catch them on a good day, you'll understand why locals keep coming back for the kind of intentional coffee experience that feels increasingly rare.”

Great local coffee shop. They don't get enough kudos online for how caring the entire staff is. This coffee shop reminds me of what coffee shops were like before Starbucks. Go here and find out what it feels like to have great coffee prepared specially for you and your tastes and a friendly atmosphere that feels inviting, like a friend's house.
This is one of my favorite spots but recently it just sucks. This places is consistently closing early with no heads up other than a tiny sticky note in the door saying “closing at time”. The are constantly short or our on every food product. They never have enough keto bagels or bagels in general even at 9 in the morning. I hope this picks up I really do like this place. The staff is very inconsistent but nice. Very young and seem to not care in the quality.
I’ve been to this shop on and off over the last 3 years. I’m not sure if it’s due to training or turn over but today was my last visit. You know when you’re handed a cup of coffee and you can just tell it won’t taste good? Haha. That’s been my experience the last 3 visits. Which is wild because the beans they sell individually are actually really good! I promise it’s okay to actually put coffee in iced coffee- most people aren’t wanting a cup of creamer and flavoring.
It is so pretty in your restaurants you share with red rocks. Now if you could hire respectful employees we would have something. Only resin you got such a high rating the coffe was wonderful.
$40 approx total with a 15% tip. Starting with customer service. The person at the front was very young, and unfortunately did not know much about the menu when asked questions about it. She was very polite just not very knowledgeable. Our first drink came out decaf when we ordered caffinated. She did remake the drink after telling my partner she heard us say decaf. The food was the most disappointing part. A $10 protein bowl and its completely raw spinach, raw bell pepper, raw tomato, cold cheese, a small amount of cold scrambled eggs, and the sausage was a patty that has been cut somewhat into pieces. when I order a protein bowl I expect something hearty. It was my mistake i should have asked for an ingredient list since the protein options and contents are not listed. The burrito was tiny and filled with crunchy undercooked rice. The Carmel mountain iced drink had no Carmel in it. The only positive was the ambiance of the actual shop. Very cozy. We enjoy trying new to us places around town. However with price point and unknowadgeble staff we will more than likely not make another stop at this particular establishment.
