It was AMAZING start to finish. Everything was so much better than The Commoner ever was!!! Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was super tasty. We started with The Root appetizer. We can't wait to go back!

Their chicken pesto sandwich on focaccia bread is really good and their vanilla bean pancakes are to die for 🤤. Will definitely be coming back! Great service and atmosphere as well.

Very disappointed with the service The Hills Tucson. Heard about this place and decided to check it out even though it’s a bit of a drive for us. It was a long work day, had errands to run that we tailored to fit the drive, and figured why not. Let’s try a new place! We were put on a waitlist for 25 minutes which was fine at first since apparently it was a soft opening and we were excited to try a something new nonetheless. We went to the bar next door - a cozy little bar called Tinajas (which was great by the way). As soon as we got the text to head back nothing appeared wrong - but it did take a while for them to find our name on their list and once confirmed we were shortly seated outside. However, minutes pass and several waiters serviced the tables surrounding us. No one greeted ours. No introduction, no water, or drink order. We reviewed the menu, gave benefit of the doubt and enjoyed the breeze…and time continued to pass. I attempted (and failed) to make eye contact or get the attention with the servers who paid no mind to our table...it felt like we were invisible. So now it’s been 20 minutes, at this point we’ve waited 25 to be seated off the wait list and another 20 to even be offered water. We’re hungry and increasingly getting more and more disappointed. The pizza my husband saw a patron eating now felt out of reach, the steak and frites now seemed less appetizing… time is ticking, the sun is setting, those errands we wanted to run are now going to need to be pushed to another day… In total it’s been 45 minutes. I grab my purse and ask to speak to the manager (I know I know). And even THAT took a long time because she was chatting with a table and naturally we were met with a flat response of "are you sure you want to go?" Yes I’m sure - you’ve wasted my time and at this point time is all I’ve got. She didn't offer much more than that, not a reseat in possibly a better section.. nothing. I guess that’s the Fox concept for you. So we decided to go across the street to El Charro to enjoy some wonderful food and actual service. Turns out that apparently some of the wait staff was trained at El Charro - the service is night and day so I don't know where the disconnect is. The servers and front of house looked very young... El Charro not only sympathized with us but also gave us dessert on the house, as if to make up for their neighbors mistakes and urged us to give them a second chance. They definitely did not have to do that but it was so nice. Very kind - but also speaks volumes to the difference in professionalism. I'll consider it - but not any time soon. Maybe when their wait staff has more experience in the service industry or graduates from middle school.

I went to the soft opening. The vibe was very relaxing and casual. The food, drinks and service were great! My favorite dish was the Ahi Poké Nachos. My favorite drink was the old fashioned with Whiskey Del Bac. The 8 tracks were cute.
