Ramblin’ Joe’s Coffee
2491 Winchester Rd, Memphis, TN
Crema's Take
“This airport gem in Memphis's B concourse is a local favorite that shines brightest when Ms. K is behind the counter, where her genuine warmth and consistent iced coffee skills make travelers feel like regulars rather than rushed passengers. The espresso-focused menu delivers bold, smooth cups that beat the chain options down the concourse, though service can be inconsistent during peak times—come when you have a few minutes to spare and you'll discover why locals keep championing this neighborhood coffee spot.”

I want to support this local establishment so badly. But the past four times I’ve flown out of Memphis. They told me they didn’t have coffee because there were no coffee filters. They didn’t have any cream of any kind. They were unwilling to make my order. Or the coffee wasn’t even hot that they did serve. And I’m not talking to a latte where the milk didn’t get warm enough I’m talking about just a black coffee. They have some lady work in the front that doesn’t know how to use a POS. And ordering takes at least 10 minutes. Not the best if you are in a hurry at an airport.
Ms.K is so sweet, friendly , and has great customer service !! My Iced coffee is always on point when she makes them!
I was looking forward to trying local coffee on my first visit to Memphis, but when I ordered 1 latte with only 1 other customer in the cafe, I waited 25+ min as a steady stream of customers came and left with their food and drinks. I continued quietly waiting and had a barista pause and ask what my order was before confirming it was being made. This same cycle happened three times over the course of the 25 min before I finally received my drink. I understand others mobile ordering may mean a longer wait, but even people ordering at the register received their items long before me. And with 4 employees working and lulls of no other customers where they were snacking and sipping their own beverages- it made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by my presence.
Fast and friendly and right by security. If you skip it you’ll get down to the big chains at the end of the concourse and wish you had gone to the local gem with shorter lines ;). And the coffee is fantastic!
★★★★★ 5/5 Oh man, if you’re dashing through Memphis International and need a caffeine lifeline, Ramblin’ Joe’s is your unsung hero. Tucked right in the B concourse, this gem brews up the boldest, smoothest pour-over I’ve had since leaving Nashville—think rich, nutty notes from their single-origin Ethiopian that hits like a sunrise over the Mississippi. I grabbed a flight-delay special: a lavender-honey latte that’s equal parts dreamy and decadent, with just the right froth to make you forget you’re in an airport. The baristas? Legends. One guy named TJ remembered my order from last layover (small world, right?) and threw in a fresh-baked biscuit on the house. Cozy vibes amid the chaos, lightning-fast service, and prices that won’t gouge your wallet. Hands down, the best airport stop in the South—Ramblin’ Joe’s turned my 3-hour delay into a mini-vacation. Brew on, folks!
