Crema's Take

Tucked inside a DUMBO office lobby like a well-kept secret, Burrow is a Japanese-owned bakery that proves restraint and refinement go hand in hand. Their carefully curated selection of pastries showcases delicate Asian-inspired flavors—think marron pound cake and feather-light chiffon—that never veer into oversweetness, making this cozy spot the kind of place where quality whispers louder than variety. Whether you're stopping by before work or settling in to linger, you'll find the kind of humble, welcoming community vibe that makes discovering hidden gems feel like joining an insider's club.

yummy pastries with a subtle touch of asian/japanese flavors. my favorite so far is the marron pound cake! their cookies are consistently good as well. i love coming here before work for a little pick me up :-) +i gotta say i disagree with some of the reviews that the man at the register is rude? i’ve been here several times and never had a bad experience. it might not be the warmest service, but no complaints from me. i just get my pastry and go.

Burrow is one of those “if you know, you know” spots in DUMBO. Hidden inside an office lobby, it feels like you’re in on a secret when you find it. The pastries are super pretty and taste even better — light, not too sweet, and really creative. I tried the pear cake and coffee cake, and honestly wished I had ordered everything on the menu. Things sell out quick, so go early or you’ll be sad. Such a cozy little gem and totally worth the hunt!

Cute little Japanese spot! Limited items but very well made. Its also nice since Dumbo doesn’t have many Japanese food options and having a Japanese owned bakery makes me happy:)

A hidden gem of a bakery near the Brooklyn Bridge. The fact that it’s run by a Japanese owner really comes through in the flavors—subtle, elegant, and never overly sweet. There aren’t a ton of options on the menu, but you can tell everything is made with care. I’ve tried nearly all of their offerings, and only one didn’t quite suit my palate, which says a lot. The core ingredients like buttery richness or zesty lemon really shine through each bite. The scone, especially when paired with cream and jam, are absolutely phenomenal. If you’re in the Brooklyn Bridge area between 10am and 2pm, this place is an absolute must.

Get the tiramisu chiffon and rhubarb tart, and the texture and taste of both are so amazing. The chiffon cake is soft as a feather. Price is reasonable. Also love the cozy humble community shop vibe. Will go back soon.
