Mean Bean Coffee

I just had the best Oreo smoothie made by Alicia! I had pulled up to the parking lot waiting to order a chai latte and changed my mind! I'm so glad I did!!

I'm writing today in SUPPORT of this business, and in hopes that staff can receive some training re: 1) how long it is respectable and considerate for baristas to chat with friends after coffee has been served, and 2) how to respond when a customer (gently and quietly) expresses frustration. I've had exemplary service here for about three years now. The coffee has been consistent; the baristas kind, patient, and professional. However, today was an entirely different story. The line was exceedingly long from both directions this afternoon. I did not mind, and settled in for a wait. But I then watched in disbelief as I observed one barista chatting with friends for about 7 minutes after they had received their orders, forcing all the cars behind to wait until their socializing was over. At the window I quietly expressed my disappointment to a second barista so it could be known that the lack of consideration re: the wait made a difference. I was unfortunately met with hostility shielded through smiles and "You may go somewhere else". I appreciate the PT culture of visiting at check out (I do it too), but this was EXCESSIVE, especially considering the wait that the many parties behind were incurring. And, from the second barista a simple acknowledgement of the oversight would have sufficed.

Double edit* After being gone for awhile, I gave this place another shot. And after almost a year of going here, I've received nothing but good service and good espresso. Bad apples happen I guess. Edit* This was a five star review. Right up until a week ago when one of the employees told her coworker that she thought I was "creepy". Maybe she thought the window was closed but I heard her. Then this morning I heard the same worker TELL A CUSTOMER that she "hated this guy" right before telling me good morning. I received nothing but good, friendly service from all the other employees. But this morning sealed the deal. I will not be going here anymore. Old review* I go here because of how early they open. 6am. And the walk up window is nice. Good Americano for a good price👍 Service is always good, but there is sometimes a line in the driveup. It goes fast enough though.

Excellent coffee and lovely service ☕️💜✨ We’re up visiting the Peninsula from the Eastside and always looking for good coffee stops.

We are from out of town. Stop in on our way to and headed home. In detail I ordered white coffee and white chocolate. 1st one wasn't too bad, little lacking on white chocolate flavor, second one (it's written right on the cup, WC missing anywhere white coffee/white chocolate it was made with regular chocolate and expresso no white on white. Felt as though they were little scattered and don't really listen to you ordering. Disappointed because it wasn't cheap at all. $12 for a 16oz.
