The Roast Coffee and Cafe
5205 Glen Arm Rd, Glen Arm, MD
Crema's Take
“This welcoming neighborhood gem in Glen Arm has mastered the art of doing a few things exceptionally well—their baristas nail the fundamentals whether you're ordering a straightforward Americano or a seasonal specialty like a chocolate peppermint mocha, and their breakfast offerings shine with fresh-cooked eggs and quality ingredients like real cream cheese and sourdough. What really sets them apart is how they've transformed from a quick pit stop into a genuine gathering place where folks linger over coffee and conversation, creating a warm, intentional atmosphere despite their appealingly simple menu. It's the kind of local spot where attentive service and genuine care for detail make you feel like a regular from your first visit.”

I got a chocolate mocha and a sausage egg and cheese bagel. They cook the eggs fresh where you can see it. You don’t get that at many coffee shops. The cream cheese was good as well. The mocha was good, also tried a regular coffee and it was brewed well. I would highly recommend to enjoy it outside on a nice day with the nice view.
We visited on a busy Sunday, and despite the full house, the service was fantastic. The menu is intentionally simple, but they execute every detail. Following the barista's recommendation, we tried two seasonal lattes. We were delighted by our choices. You can taste the care they put into their coffee. While it’s on the pricier side, the experience and ambiance make it well worth it. I cannot wait for the spring time to enjoy their outside seating! It is my honor to support local businesses like The Roast.
Yumm of all breakfast yumms. Mocha peppermint large coffee and an amazing toasted sourdough avoAcado (see receipt) with egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Too good, folks. Really appeasing for a hungry tummy.
What a beautiful cafe! Im grateful there's actually a nice local shop by us. How to really taste the coffee order Americano. And they have really great Americano here. Delish! Highly highly recommended.
For years, people came here only to pass through… They arrived just to leave again. But now, for the past few years, they come to stay— to talk, to connect, to create memories. The whistle of trains is no longer heard; its place has been taken by the hiss of the espresso machine. The smell of smoke no longer fills the air; now it’s the sweet scent of freshly baked pastries. This place is for you. This place is for me. This place is for staying.
