Intelligentsia Coffee
55 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA
Crema's Take
“This spacious Pasadena location trades intimacy for room to breathe, with plenty of seating and an art-filled interior that's ideal for lingering over work or conversation—though some miss the original cozier vibe. Their espresso-focused menu shines brightest with creative twists like black sesame lattes and signature specialty drinks that go beyond the traditional offerings. It's a reliably solid spot for quality coffee and pastries in a calm, gallery-like setting that won't overwhelm you with noise or crowds.”

The redesign leaves so much to be desired {I realize it's been a few years, but I still prefer the original design of this coffee shop.} It feels like a hospital inside. The coffee drinks are not the same quality and I miss the hands-on handmade ethos Intelli used to have. The beans are still the best available- but take them home and make your own coffee. Pastries are great, it's just not an experience I enjoy bug might pop in for a pastry and a bag of beans.
This is a great Intelligentsia location. It is clean, spacious, lots of room to sit and work or chat with friends, and it is not crazy loud or packed. Drinks are excellent and on par with other Intelligentsia locations. Parking is available in multiple nearby parking garages or metered on the side streets. Great location near lots of stores, restaurants, and transit
Beautiful interior with lots of seating and many choices for coffee. Whether you’re looking for a simple coffee, or one with Asian twists like their black sesame latte, there’s definitely something for everyone to try.
This is a fairly large space with plenty of seating. The coffee is good. The cinnamon roll pastry I had, was more sweet and sugary than cinnamon. More like a sweet roll than a cinnamon roll. The service was quick, except they forgot my pastry, but quickly remedied it. The parking is on the street, which has free times of day to park, but is metered the rest of the time. There are paid parking garages as well. There is a front entrance and an alley entrance. My small coffee and cinnamon roll cost $11. So a little more expensive than some of the other options in the area.
Great drinks in a big and nice setting. They have plenty of tables and also lots of interesting art pieces hung up on the walls. The drinks are very tasty and good quality, and the staff are very friendly. The washrooms are all the way in the basement with a code to access and are very clean.
