Command Coffee

Crema's Take

Command Coffee roasts its own beans right in the shop, giving you that rare opportunity to watch their craft in action while grabbing your morning cup through the drive-thru or settling into their sleek, modern space. Their staff brings genuine personality to the experience, and while their food menu is a highlight, it's their willingness to nail the fundamentals—pour overs, traditional espresso drinks, and convenient parking in downtown Indianapolis—that keeps regulars coming back.

This coffee shop is convenient, has personality and great staff, with a drive-thru. The food is amazing and what I go for, but 3 times in a row they did not have what I wanted to order from the menu. So, in deciding where to go to get coffee & a breakfast snack, I think twice.

This is my first impression as it was my first time at command Cafe I ordered a 12 oz latte. I also saw they roast their own coffee but I didn't see any roast date on their bags. I kept asking about their Colombian honey processed coffee beans and I kept being told by different people you need to wait. Well I ended up waiting all right because my coffee and three people who came in after we had their order fulfilled. They realize their mistake and they made me a 16 oz even though what I ordered was a 12 oz. The customer service there was lacking a great deal. No one had time to answer my question about buying a bag of coffee beans. The Roasting area it looked like some afterthought. Like everything was crammed in a little tight space so there was a bunch of empty buckets I did not look like a good place to roast. I wish I would have taken a picture of it it looked more like a storage area than roasting. They gave me a coupon for a free coffee next time because of my long wait and they still were too busy to answer about the beans so I left. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. It was like they'd rather sell a $6 coffee then $20 worth of beans

I’ve only been to Command Coffee once, and it was kind of chaotic. I came across it by total accident when having absolutely no idea where I was in downtown Indy a while back (my car’s built in map failed me) and I was in serious need of a pick me upper to figure out how to get back home. I ended up stopping by late in the day near closing, and the first thing I noticed was how beautiful the interior was. Very modern and cozy at the same time. I ended up getting an iced cookie butter latte they had as a seasonal special, and it was extremely sweet. I don’t know what I was expecting based off the name of it, but it was a bit hard to drink due to the sheer amount of sugar in it. However, in all fairness, it was probably a good thing that this was the case, as I had been on the road for the entire afternoon at this point, and I had a long way to go still. Needless to say, I want to go back sometime to try their other lattes and some of their food items to better assess their food and beverages overall, but as it stands, Command Coffee gave me the energy boost I needed when I needed it, and I am very grateful for that. 4 stars.

This coffee shop has a drive through and plenty of parking. The interior is designed in a very sleek and modern way, but is still a warm and inviting. They have their coffee bean roaster on display, which is a neat touch and adds authenticity to the experience. I ordered a pour over cup of coffee with beans from Colombia. It was absolutely delicious. It did not need any cream or sugar. The flavor was very full and rich without tasting burnt or acidic like some other popular coffee shops. Try this place for a great cup of coffee.

I haven’t been to Command Coffee in over a year, so I was excited to visit as I’m in town for the holidays. I’m a big fan of pumpkin spice and saw they had it on their menu, so I gave it a try and was very disappointed as it tasted like I was drinking pure milk. Maybe it was because I ordered the 24oz, but I’ve always ordered that size in the past and never had an issue.
