Crema's Take

This downtown Boston coffee sanctuary strikes the perfect balance between serious craft and unhurried comfort, with baristas who consistently nail both classic espresso-based drinks and showcase pours like their celebrated Geisha brew. The marble-lined lobby feels more like a gallery than a café, offering everything from bar seating to plush sofas, making it equally suited for a quick specialty coffee moment or settling in for hours. Whether you're ordering a meticulously crafted macchiato or their creamy, luxurious matcha, the quality and care in every cup keeps regulars coming back after years away.

Best coffee downtown. I have tried a few others and always come back. The lobby atmosphere is very calming.

Who went here and didn’t give it five stars? Crazy. This is the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. Had a pour over geisha coffee. It was so interesting tasting. A very special cup. People were so nice there.

Excellent high quality coffee and also well made by barista (tested their macchiato twice). Gorgeous marble “lobby” space with ample seating options (bar stools, table/chairs and sofas). Clean, comfortable and easy esthetically pleasing. Did not try pastries. And yes it’s expensive - but you’re paying for quality.

Super amazing experience definitely an expensive matcha. But worth it, 9/10 plus the gorgeous atmosphere around makes it very pleasant the matcha is creamy thick and very flavorful. I did order it with 2% milk, they sell it with oatmilk but they use Oatly which was sunflower oil as an ingredient so I prefer not to drink oil.

August 2022: Stopped by for a drip coffee ☕ and an oatmeal. The oatmeal is a third party and not their own. Coffee was really good. It's been over 10+ years since I've had their coffee in Chicago. Definitely before they got bought out by Peet's Coffee. I'm glad they still select excellent coffee beans and take pride in roasting their beans. Oatmeal was less enjoyable. Probably wouldn't get that again and would try one of their baked goods!
