Crema's Take

Rise & Grind is more wellness-focused beverage lab than traditional coffee shop, specializing in nutrient-dense smoothies, creative tea blends, and signature drinks that lean heavily into functional ingredients and supplements. The owner and staff are genuinely warm and knowledgeable about what goes into each drink, though the strong vitamin-forward flavor profile and Herbalife-adjacent vibes won't appeal to everyone—this is a place for adventurous sippers looking to nourish rather than just caffeinate. If you're into wellness drinks and don't mind paying a premium for that philosophy, the friendly atmosphere and creative approach make it worth a stop during your Boise lunch walk.

I often walk past this location during lunch and stopped in out of curiosity- it is not a traditional coffee shop despite its advertising. I have no solid evidence, but after some research and cross-referencing, I am almost certain that this location is an Herbalife storefront based off of its menu and selection of products. The single-person staff was friendly and responsive, and the cranberry aloe shot was good, but the menu was confusing and excessive especially for someone who was looking for a more traditional coffee shop selection. I ended up getting a citrus blast tea bomb almost out of obligation. It initially tasted fine, but eventually took on a very Emergen-C esque flavor and aftertaste that was further bittered by its $9 price tag. The MLM scheme hunch was furthered when I was prompted to put in contact information and select an "ambassador" (who I can only assume is the distributor for the product) on their payment kiosk. Overall, for anyone looking to get their corporate sucralose-laden faux health drink on the daily, go ahead, but actual coffee lovers- go anywhere else.

The owner was super friendly and knowledgeable of the nutrition facts of the drinks. I had a smoothie and hubbs had a peach drink. 10/10

Not sure if their smoothies or their attitudes are more disgusting. Chalky, overpriced drink served by a snippy woman who seemed annoyed to have customers. Waste of a good location having this shop in downtown. Save yourself the time and money and go to Tree City Juice and Smoothie up the hill by BSU.

The people there are super nice, but the product is not really for me. The tea has a very strong vitamin flavor and for me not being used to taking a whole bunch of multivitamins every day my body was not ready for the tea bomb and I’m definitely paying for it tonight. It feels like I just swallowed a handful of women’s one a day vitamins on an empty stomach.

If tea bombs made of crystal light and Herbalife supplements are your thing, this is your place (photo is of their take home DIY team bomb ingredients lol). And I know it’s a thing! Low stars is bc I think they’re pretty shady in disclosing these are the ingredients on the menu. Would not have ordered and paid $9 (lol!) for “healthy” tea if I’d had any idea what I was drinking.
